It seems ok to me although the metal part of the top zipper pull isn't original, but you may want to wait for more opinions. Maybe the hangtag was sewn there to cover a hole or stain?
Thanks Hyacinth. I wondered if the zip pull is the "paper clip style zipper pull" referred to in the Sacs Mag guide. I didn't think about the hangtag covering a flaw. I'm liking it less now.

Yup, that fake soho (wannabe) patchwork bag was removed after having been reported. (I posted my ETA link to the listing in the post where I replied to yours and lurkers who read often report.)

Have you referred the seller here? I don't know where she's "checking out" authenticity of her items but she'd better find a new authenticator or her ebay account will be severely dinged, she'll be limited or prohibited from selling designer items and if her infractions continue, her account will be at risk.

Did you report the lot listing you won? That one is reportable since there's a fake in the lot.
I love that term "lurkers" lol!

I have asked her to issue me a partial refund but she wants me to just return everything.
That is going to be quite expensive, probably around $25 - why should I get stuck for those costs?
Re: reporting it - do you mean as in reporting a fake? or filing a dispute?

AND yes I did refer her here but have had no responses since my last message 24 hours ago

The best thing that anyone who really wanted to learn about real vs. fake Coaches could do is to read every post in this thread every day. But most members never come here until they think they might have a problem.
Well, I don't know how long I'll keep it up, but at this point I read the posts every day just to learn about the bags. I find it great fun, very educational, and a lot less depressing than the daily newspaper.

I don't know that I'll ever be a collector (though I may buy a few, eventually) but I fondly remember the early ones from when I was in high school (OH, how I wish I still had my brown leather one from high school!!). Would love to have one from those days, but that would have been the mid-1960s... probably nearly impossible to find one in decent shape!

Mine looked sort of like this, only it was a "browner" shade of brown: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Vintage-60s-Bonnie-Cashin-Stewardess-Flap-Bag-Purse-NYC-/301007402457

Just got the pm.... for all. ..this bag is very much authentic and very beautiful as a side note :)

For information on the older creeds and stamps you can use my guide. I collaborated with Coach and others and it's been verified as accurate.

Very cool...I'm confused about your last creed and discription: "The most recent serials are XXXXX-XXXXX. The above is F=Factory, 07=2007, 11427=Model Number"

Isn't the F in the beginning still the month of manufacture, and shouldn't there be an F before the model number indicating MFF?

I come every few days and read every post til I catch up!
(Patting myself on the back hehehe)

(Hyacinth wonders if she dare mention the several thousand posts that have been Archived over the last few years...) :thinkin:

If you go to the first post in each thread, there's usually a link to the previous closed & Archived thread, and a link to the following one is in the last post of each thread. Or is it too cruel to tell you that? :graucho:

And let me take this chance to explain why I don't post a Thank You or a You're Welcome for everyone who thanks me for an answer I post - I'd like to, but it would just add a lot of posts to each thread and would mean that the threads would be Archived and removed that much sooner. I DO want to thank everyone but I'd rather keep the thread moving along without the extra weight. That's just my personal opinion, everyone else is free to do what they think is best. Please just understand that the Thank You or You're Welcome is felt and implied even if it's not actually posted.

So :ty:

Comment: I quite like this and hope its authentic. Not sure about the hangtag that the seller confirms has been sewn onto the front? Any views much appreciated, thanks.

Maybe Tetondeb needs to look at it then. I've never seen a "paper clip" zipper pull before and have NO idea what they're supposed to look like.

This is my opinion (and mine only) of the seller.

Although sellers are required to know items are authentic before listing them, sellers are human and make "honest" mistakes. Many sellers aren't even aware of the existence of fakes and don't realize the extremes the counterfeiters take to fool buyers. It's often not until they've listed a fake and were either informed by a buyer or by ebay and its removal and account ding that they know something was counterfeit.

Therefore, it's possible your seller may not have known (in the first place) that her bags were fake.

However once informed by you, directed to TPF for further confirmation and the takedown of her fake patchwork bag, she can no longer claim naivete or ignorance.

Instead, she lied to you have checking on (whichever items) and confirming that they're real. Someone who lies is (IMO) no longer being honest in my book.

I was asking if you reported the listing as fake. (The other fake she'd had was evidently reported and subsequently removed.) I think some of us might have held off reporting the listing you bought because you might want to save the pictures for a dispute before reporting. Also, if you intend to leave negative feedback for the seller, you'll want to do it now because once a listing is removed, you'll be unable to leave feedback.

As for the seller's unwillingness to issue a partial refund for the fake, that is her option. Sadly, it's a common tactic among buyers find defects or issues with purchases and try to negotiate a lower price. Therefore many sellers will deny a partial and prefer a return for full refund.

In this case, that's foolish because she can't resell the fake anywhere. (Fakes are illegal to sell on ebay, Bonz, Craigslist and even yard sales, though many people don't know this nor do they care.) It's a waste of time and money to have to pay to ship a large package because one item is fake.

Ebay policy generally requires that the buyer pay return shipping but in cases where the return is s result of seller error, good sellers often cover the return postage too be they understand that a buyer shouldn't be out money for the seller's own mistake. If your seller still refuses to cover or reimburse return shipping because SHE sold a fake, that's further confirmation to me that she deserves to be negged and will probably try to resell the fake.

My guess is that although she didn't post, pardon64 is reading here and might be too embarrassed to post. That's fine if she doesn't want to post but hopefully she'll learn something from reading and will do the right thing for you and your fake.

Please keep us updated and let us know whether you want us to post this listing on the Hall of Shame.

Excellent point. I will do the same.

This is my first time on a site like this and I honestly do not blog at all, so I hope this is in the right place and that I am doing this correctly. I am in interested in purchasing a bag from ebay when I looked at the creed I saw something that was different. There was a "P" at the end of the style number. Also there was a "S" at the end of the first set of numbers. This is much different than any of the creeds that I have seen and I was told that this was the place to go and find out if it is a fake or not. Also if it is not fake is this a good price for it.

Item: RARE & HTF COACH CAMEL & BRITISH TAN LEATHER "CARLY" BAG ~ 10616P ~ NWOT $498

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Nomoredrama:heart:

This is the pilot bag for the Coach Carly. It looks good. They test marketed it in some stores before selling them.

I apologize for duplicating someone else's response. I missed the other response.

She made an error in the listing. This is the camel. She Also has a parchment for sale and forgot to change the description.

I still have had no response since the first reply where she told me to return the whole group. I guess I will just open up a dispute and see where it goes from there. I will def keep you updated. Please do not post in hall of shame yet so that I have my options open. THanks so much for your huge amount of help!

Hello there! I was wondering if someone could take a look at this purse for me. The creed photo is upside down and looks like it only has one letter and 6 numbers, the last 4 being 5130 (but I could be wrong about what the first character is) so I wanted to check with the experts.

Item: Coach WIllis
seller: lammy5150
listing: 251371620389

link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Willi...389?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item3a86ea8825
I'm reading the serial number as G13 5130 which I believe to be a station bag. Please wait for others to confirm but I think the listing is okay.
