This is my opinion (and mine only) of the seller.
Although sellers are required to know items are authentic before listing them, sellers are human and make "honest" mistakes. Many sellers aren't even aware of the existence of fakes and don't realize the extremes the counterfeiters take to fool buyers. It's often not until they've listed a fake and were either informed by a buyer or by ebay and its removal and account ding that they know something was counterfeit.
Therefore, it's possible your seller may not have known (in the first place) that her bags were fake.
However once informed by you, directed to TPF for further confirmation and the takedown of her fake patchwork bag, she can no longer claim naivete or ignorance.
Instead, she lied to you have checking on (whichever items) and confirming that they're real. Someone who lies is (IMO) no longer being honest in my book.
I was asking if you reported the listing as fake. (The other fake she'd had was evidently reported and subsequently removed.) I think some of us might have held off reporting the listing you bought because you might want to save the pictures for a dispute before reporting.
Also, if you intend to leave negative feedback for the seller, you'll want to do it now because once a listing is removed, you'll be unable to leave feedback.
As for the seller's unwillingness to issue a partial refund for the fake, that is her option. Sadly, it's a common tactic among buyers find defects or issues with purchases and try to negotiate a lower price. Therefore many sellers will deny a partial and prefer a return for full refund.
In this case, that's foolish because she can't resell the fake anywhere. (Fakes are illegal to sell on ebay, Bonz, Craigslist and even yard sales, though many people don't know this nor do they care.) It's a waste of time and money to have to pay to ship a large package because one item is fake.
Ebay policy generally requires that the buyer pay return shipping but in cases where the return is s result of seller error,
good sellers often cover the return postage too be they understand that a buyer shouldn't be out money for the seller's own mistake. If your seller still refuses to cover or reimburse return shipping because SHE sold a fake, that's further confirmation to me that she deserves to be negged and will probably try to resell the fake.
My guess is that although she didn't post,
pardon64 is reading here and might be too embarrassed to post. That's fine if she doesn't want to post but hopefully she'll learn something from reading and will do the right thing for you and your fake.
Please keep us updated and let us know whether you want us to post this listing on the Hall of Shame.
