Could someone please authenticate this Coach bag?
Bought at Goodwill yesterday.
Approx. 11”w x 8”h x 3.5”d Handle drop 8”
Looks like a slightly smaller 2006 MFF version of the Hamptons Leather Carryall...or does it have its own name?
Did this style originally have a hangtag or just tassels? (ooh, my first tassels!)
Any and all info is appreciated...as always, thanks in advance!

Going by the preceeding style number it's probably a Hamptons Small Leather Carryall. The regular larger version was described as 14x9 inches and was style number 8A71.

Thanks, Hyacinth! I saw the 8A71 on the wayback...thought maybe mine was just smaller because it was MFF...hmmm...how much leather do you save by making a bag 1" to 3" smaller on 2 dimensions?...how many smaller bags do you have to make before you have saved enough leather to make an extra bag? Don't know if this is Coach's logic, but it makes sense to me :) Have a great weekend!

I did a follow up response (you may have found ti by now) and posted a photo of the "new" Legacy zip circa spring 1997. So a 1994 Legacy zip shouldn't have existed :nogood: I am curious about brass though, is it better if it DID say solid brass? or is the wording "solid" wrong for that period? I don't think mine said the words, but can't remember, (and bag is off in the "mad at you" pile right now.)

Hey Jess - sorry for the delay in responding. I'm furloughed  so trying to stay off the Internet - otherwise I would probably just sit around in my pajamas and troll eBay all day trying not to be mad/depressed about the current situation.

We had a discussion a while back on when buckles should be marked "Solid Brass." I think where we came out was that Coach *wasn't* using solid brass in the 1990's so any bag from that time period that has "Solid Brass" markings should be looked at closely.

Your comment about the hardware all being brass made me wonder if there was a marking, but now I see that you were just saying that it all matched.

Here is a link to some photos of my fake Legacy Zip - http://s1273.photobucket.com/user/netlawyer/library/J6D-9966?sort=3&page=1 All the hardware matches on that one as well, but after learning more since buying it has some definite issues - zipper pull and the missing ferrules on the zipper being a couple of the biggest.

Hello Ladies. I bought 3 vintage bags for rehabbing & when I checked them out I noticed all THREE had brass attachments for the 'male' part of the turn lock like the one pictured. I have seen some of these that the little top cap was missing from, but it did not look like this.

All bags creed numbers predated 1994 and one was stamped Made In New York City. I have a BAD feeling about these!! Any input on this issue would be very much appreciated! Thank You!!
