I don't care HOW big a seller she is or how much Ebay likes her - she does NOT take the proper care in authenticating her Coach items. She lists My Poupette as authenticator - not only has My Poupette really destroyed their once-good reputation in the last few years - read the threads here at tPF like this one:
http://forum.purseblog.com/ebay-forum/anyone-else-ripped-off-by-mypoupette-com-432735.html

but they have NO real experience authenticating Coach! The bag is genuine but the seller needs to take Coach authentications a LOT more seriously.
Not only that but under the Product details regarding this purse she has under Made in: Unknown. Really?? When the creed states quite clearly that it was made in Italy. To me that shows a lack of caring or understanding.

The big grommets were in all 3 Westports that I have photos of but that's just about all I know. Here are 4241, 4242 and 4243:

re: Westport Measurements

These are the measurements I have in my files. They're taken from info found in various places over the years (just so you know that I don't have these bags and didn't measure them myself...)

Coach 4241 9" x 9 x 3 ¾”;
Coach 4242 11 ¾” tall x 11 ¾” wide x 4 ¼”;
Coach 4243 8” tall x 12” wide x 3 ½”.
Wow, you guys rock! Just made my search a little easier. I wish sellers would list the style number so I don't have to wade through thousands of listings. That being said some of the best deals I've ever gotten were listings described as "Black Coach Purse" or "Old Coach Bag":amuse:

I think 4243 is in my sights. Thanks.

That's the thing. You can find great bargains in poorly listed items but you have to wade brought so much to get there.

Exactly! Like one or two other sellers I could name, they think because they're Ebay's Special Snowflakes or have their names splashed over various (and usually clueless) media, they're above the rules. And if they get a few Negs, they just get buried within a few weeks or months and no one notices. It's a variartion on the Leona Helmsley Rule that "Only the Little People pay taxes" - "only the Little Sellers have to to follow the rules."

The darker is 13" x 9.5" x 3"
The lighter 13" x 7.5" x 2 1/2"

Neither have hang tags present.

What pictures would be beneficial?

Thank you so much, Hyacinth!

How about if I psot photos of what I think they are and you can tell me if the bags match the photos and description? If I make a mistake, someone please correct me:

If both have similar details other than measurements:
Top - the darker one, serial number 817-2910 - style # 9430, Slim Satchel Large, from the middle 1980s
Bottom - Style 9425, Slim Satchel Compact, middle 1970s thru early 1980s. Coach called it a Handle Clutch in the 1970s.
The page is from a 1983 Coach catalog.

Hi - I just purchased three bag lot on ebay and this blue one does not look right to me.
Please help. If you can't read the creed (it was hard to get inside the bag to photo it) but it is not blurry, that is just the angle making it look that way - it is D8J-9022. (It says made in the United States).
Looking at pics of other bags in this style and the metal foot rests are different, and the strap is thicker than usual. What do you girls think?

It's a genuine Metropolitan Flap Bag from 1998 - I think. See ETA below

ETA - OH BOTHER. Ignore my ramblings, I'm sleep-deprived. Back in a few... Fore some reason I had The M plant code stuck in my head. Back to the drawing board.

Sorry I'm mobile as usual. ..

I believe that duffel is good. Other opinions are welcome.

It looks ok to me too.

Hey Tetondeb, did you get any snow yet?
