It looks ok to me too.

Hey Tetondeb, did you get any snow yet?
WinterF002playsnow.gif

Just starting! Calling for 15" valley and 30" on the mountain:D

Thanks Hyacinth. I will wait to hear more.
What about the foot rests though? - all the other ones I see are more cone shaped, like pegs...
and these are like gumdrops or m&ms shaped.

I goofed. Still working on it, and reminding myself that it's a J plant code. Most of the mid-90s J-plant USA codes have been in fake or questionable bags.

It's hard to believe that the crooks would actually fake one with the removeable keyfob. Seems like a lot of trouble to go though.

It's a genuine Metropolitan Flap Bag from 1998 - I think. See ETA below

ETA - This one is a head-scratcher - I should have checked other listings before I posted the first time. Could be we've found another case of two different plant codes in the same month, so I'm not even going to try and figure out which is "correct", although from the Costa Rica creeds below it looks like "D" was the month that the plant code was reassigned. The feet are different on the one you asked about but I'm not comfortable calling it fake yet. I'm asking for more opinions on this one since I'm more comfortable with creeds than straps and feet.

I'm stumped on this one.
Now I am REALLY confused lol.
The creed on my bag is D8J-9022
I thought D was the month,
8 is the year
"J " is the plant code.
You are showing me creeds from 1997
with plant code "M" so what should I be looking for?

Another thing I noticed - only one of the bags on ebay has the original key fob, but it clearly is engraved "COACH" in caps in a circle on the metal stud. Mine is plain.

I added more comments to my original answer - right now your guess is as good as mine, maybe better. I'm still wrapping my head around another case of two different plant codes in the same month - again. :shrugs:

That key ring is smooth and all the ones I've had were engraved with coach all around

ETA - OH BOTHER. Ignore my ramblings, I'm sleep-deprived. Back in a few... Fore some reason I had The M plant code stuck in my head. Back to the drawing board.
And the more I look at it the more I don't like it. I had a fake Court bag with this kind of thick strap. See how the leather is shredding above the zipper pocket too.
No problem Hyacinth - I will iggy all previous comments and assessments and we can start all over again. Catch ya in the morning!!

Sorry, read my corrections and apologies for getting the plant codes confused.

The J code worries me though. I don't have any photos of a genuine Metropolitan keyfob for comparison but compare the photo below with your blue one. Look at the differences in where the keyfob is mounted, and the distance between the inside pocket zipper and the tops of the small slip pockets underneath it.
