This one has me a bit puzzled. Question: aside from the controversial 'J', would Coach have made a classic( of a vintage), with this date on it in the US? I have seen a lot of these bags in the tan leather with nickel trim. I would appreciate any input available on this bag. Thanx in advance!
Could you post a link to the listing? this style has been faked a lot, but the creed might be okay. Nickel hardware wasn't introduced until 1997 so the creed is a little early for a nickel hardware bag. Coach was making bags in the US into the 2000s.

Hi ladies, can someone please authenticate this bag in the following photos please?

Thanks!

Item: brown court bag

PS, isn't it beautiful? I really REALLY hope it's authentic!

Also, it looks like there are some minor scratches on the front flap and the straps are dirty but nothing else... do you think these minor scratches and dirt on the straps will come out during the bag bath? I am pretty sure it will, but I don't know if the dirt on this bag is considered extreme or not. If it's extremely dirty and may come out from the bag, I am definitely less inclined to take the plunge without some more thought (..yes, I am not thinking clearly or rationally since I've been madly looking for a british tan court bag for the last week)

The bag is authentic. It was made in Costa Rica. I really like the leather on the Costa Rican bags. There are some variations in color on the front which look to me like the grain of the leather. These won't come out. The scratches won't come out in the bath either, but with conditioning, they won't be noticeable. Some dirt washes out, some doesn't. It is hard to predict. I think that at least some of the dirt is from oil from people's hands. Some of that might not come out.

Thanks @whateve, this is good to know. I'm less inclined to jump right into the purchase but I'm glad I've found an option :) thank YOU again and as usual

Please use the format requested in Post number 1 when asking for authentication, or show pictures of the rest of the bag especially a longer shot of the inside pocket showing the entire width of the pocket and zipper and a bit past the pocket edge. Thanks!

If this bag has nickle hardware it's probably fake. The serial number also has exactly the same font that we've seen on many fakes. A genuine creed and serial from the same plant, month and year looks like the first one below.

While we've seen many very accurate-looking bags with the same font as you asked about, there have also been some that are obvious fakes, like the one in the second photo, which is from a full three years before that Hippie Flap style 9134 was even made.

I don't think the strap is Coach..hardware not right. The darkened areas look like patina to me, which is from oils in hands with use & does not wash off. Some one with a lot more knowledge will have to OK the story patch however!
