Comment: I emailed the seller to ask for a pic of the creed. She said the creed stated it "was made from genuine glove tinted cowhide" and the serial number could be authenticated by a Coach dealer. The serial number is 501-08 which is on the list of fakes made in Korea. I emailed her back and said that type of number is on the list of fakes made in Korea and to read the Authenticity Guides. She emailed me back that she checked with her sister (whose purse it had been) who assured her it was bought many years ago from an authorized Coach seller.

A definite fake, right? Made in Korea. Did/Does Coach ever use a stamped tag like the one on the inner pocket?

Yes, it's fake. Besides the Korean creed, there are two few digits in the serial number, there's an extra strip of leather on the inside of the flap, and that zipper pull is just awful. Coach did use a zipper pull that says Coach on it on the outer pulls on Sonoma bags, but it is hangtag shaped.

There are other details that prove it is fake so you can still report it. The turnlock isn't Coach. The zipper pull was never made by Coach. The shape of the stitching above the turnlock is incorrect. The way the pocket zipper is installed with that frame around it is wrong.
