Hi - I am new to posting here, so please bear with me as I don't know if I am doing this correctly. I would appreciate having this Coach bag authenticated and will attach photos if I can figure out how. It is called the Stewardess and it has creed no. J8P-9525 Made in the United States.

It is my opinion this bag is probably fake. I've never seen the P plant code used for the United States ever. Other opinions are welcome.

Refer to the posting instructions in the first post in the thread. This listing does not have enough pictures, including one of the creed, to authenticate. I've seen a bag like this at Macy's so I know there is a style like this. I believe it is supposed to have contrasting tassels which seem to be missing from this listing.

I agree, it's fake. The plant code in the serial number doesn't belong with that creed.

There's a warning about serial numbers from the mid-1990s starting with "J" in the Fake Serial Numbers List posted at Ebay. Not all of them are fake, but many are and they always need to be carefully authenticated.

I am not familiar with the plant codes.
I did just now look at the looooong list of fake serial numbers that hyacinth has posted and saw a lot of "J8" prefixes but none with the "P" .
Are there any other signs or clues on the bag that would also lead you to believe that it is fake?

The font of the number looks a little off. Is there anything stamped on the buckles? What does the pocket under the flap look like? The stitching looks sloppy.

Sometimes Coach used plant codes for more than one plant, but there are a few codes that we've never seen reused. The P plant code was only used for Costa Rica. In all of the thousands of bags we've looked at here, we've never seen an authentic bag with that code that wasn't made in Costa Rica.

Here is a creed from a bag made in the same month and year, yet it says Costa Rica. How can the same plant be in two locations at once?

So I had already bought these without discovering this awesome thread. Does anyone mind checking on the authenticity of these for me? I have recently discovered how great vintage Coaches can be...and might addicted now?! Haha.

Welcome to the forum!
Both bags are authentic. The first one is a Rambler's Legacy, made in 2001. The Court bag is vintage, made between 1988 and 1993.
