I am AMAZED at how many people get Coaches as "gifts" - where do I get friends like that?

Be thankful you don't have =those= friends, they do exist!!
My ex-sister-in-law once gifted me with a fantabulously horrifying 'Marc Fake-obs' StellaNOT bag, complete with matching wallet -- and a receipt from a known fake selling site, that showed she had paid well over $700 for the set. I still remember opening the box (fakey fake box) & dust bag - at my birthday party... pulling out this crappy, shiney , fakey monstrosity... and everyone going "ooooooh! MARC JACOBS!!!" & I was holding it like it had a contagious disease.
My brain hurt from trying to figure out what to say!

She was (I guess?) trying to do a nice thing, but eegads. Awkward. And all that money!!
She also gifted my mom & 2 sisters with supposed COACH bags... I doubt they were real.
I never said anything, as I didn't want to stir up trouble with my brother's wife... but now that she's an EX, guess it's safe to tell all :)

Beware friends that give gift purses
:)

I just received this one today. The purse itself is in pretty good condition but the grommets on the strap are silver colored. It is very difficult to tell from the pics in the listing. When I look closely at the grommets a couple of them look like they may have been brass plated but it has worn off. The grommet that has the buckle through it has the most brass on it. The buckles say solid brass. Does this mean that the purse may be counterfeit or was Coach using brass plating as a cost saving measure or to lower the weight of the purse? Thanks.

If the buckles say solid brass and yet it is only brass plated, that is not something Coach would do. IMO, any bag from the 90's that has buckles that say solid brass is counterfeit, since the buckles are obviously not solid brass. I don't like the look of that creed either. Compare it to this listing, made just one month later. I have a bag, different style, from one month earlier, and the font on mine, matches this listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Authentic-C...946?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item4d10c45c5a

I was looking at that listing. I think I will return it since the seller will do refunds. It'll have to wait for a couple of days. My dad fell (he just turned 92) and I have to go see him. Thanks.

Yes, I would return it. I hope your dad is gets better soon. My dad fell, got a hip replacement, and a few months later he was walking perfectly.
