Spot on. I saw that one earlier and posted it to the Hall of Shame. I think this one is also highly questionable, but I am not sure I would report without a photo of the creed. Interested in others thoughts as to whether simply citing a zipper detail will satisfy VeRO: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coa...980-Shoulder-Cross-Body-Handbag-/271230403372

I believe this one likely authentic, but would wait for another opinion:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coa...her-Shoulder-Cross-Body-Handbag-/161068053961

This one also looks good, but I would want a clear photo of the creed:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-COA...ENGER-CROSS-BODY-PURSE-BAG-9980-/151060850392
I think I see a triple border around the Coach cartouche on the creed on the first one. That's another red flag.

I'm never comfortable just using a zipper detail as the only reason to say something's fake, unless it's a glaringy bad problem like those too-short inside pocket zippers in fake Patricia's Legacy bags. And while I'd always want to advise a potential buyer that there's a question about the creed, I don't believe in reporting them without more evidence. There's too much risk to the seller when something is reported based only on one small red flag that might have a legitimate explanation. And I can't blame a seller for not recognizing the potential problem either.

The first one has a mark on the inside pocket to the left of the creed stamp that looks a bit like an Outlet mark, but it could just be my imagination.

Be careful there - I'm not sure that's always the case. It looks like it had the "Made In The United States" line at the bottom of the creed just like the first one below. The triple border may be an optical illusion due to the lighting, like the second creed seems to be. The last one for -9134 is definitely fake but even that one looks like it has a double border on one side and a triple on the other:

It's a 9441 watermelon tote from the mid 70's, just after Bonnie Cashin left Coach. If not designed by her, it was definitely influenced by her.

ETA: I just noticed that the seller is Linda's Stuff. Some people have had problems with her.

Hi whateve,

I received my watermelon tote in 3 days. I'm so excited. It looks really good, just needs a nice bath and conditioner. Thanks again for your help. :smile1:

Hello I was hoping someone could tell me if my Coach bag is authentic. I found it for 99 cents at a Salvation Army and figured for the price I would risk it. It has YKK zippers and the coach creed looks good. Unfortunately I cant post my pictures due to technical difficulties but I will post the link to an ebay listing of the same exact purse. The only differences are that my creed says it was made in Costa Rica and I dont have have the hanging coach tag. The name of the purse is a mystery to me but it appears to be from the Legacy collection. Anywho here is the link.

I still measured my purse which I have never done before so assuming I did this correctly these are the approximate dimensions:
Width: 9 1/2"
Height: 6 1/2"
Depth: 2 1/2"

The serial number on mine is K1P-9136. I was told by a Coach employee that this number can not be found in their database so I dont know if that automatically makes it a fake. Thanks in advance for all your help.

The bag in the listing you've posted is authentic. And although your bag may match exactly and have a valid serial number, we need to see pictures of your bag in order to authenticate it.

Counterfeiters can and do put valid serial numbers on fakes. It's the details of the bag that determine authenticity and not the fact that it has a "correct" serial number for the style.

If you can either upload pictures to a post or upload them to photobucket (or another photo-hosting site) and post the IMG links, we can give opinions on your bag.

I do have a couple of other comments.

1. Existence or non-existence of a YKK zipper has nothing to do with authenticity. Coach uses YKK as well as several other brands. And the fakers use real and fake YKK.

2. Calling Coach is almost useless as a way to get correct information about bags, styles, authenticity. The bag in the lisitng was made in 2003 and if authentic, your bag was from 2001. Chances are that the person you spoke to on the phone was in diapers in both of those years and probably hasn't ever seen a bag that old!

Once you're able to post pictures of your bag, it can be authenticated.

Hahaha on that last bit. Thanks for your advice. I will try to get those pics up before work tomorrow.

Good Morning!
My luck at Goodwill continues on...Can someone please authenticate this Coach?
Approx. 9.5"w x 7"h x 3"d Strap drop 24"
I'm guessing a 1994 Prairie Bag #9954.
It's much brighter green than the forest green Whateve called my City Bag a week or so ago. Was there another green?
Any and all info is much appreciated...as always, thanks in advance!

Can someone please authenticate this MFF Coach...also from Goodwill yesterday.
Approx. 10"w at bottom x 7"h x 5"d Strap drop 8" to rings
Would this be a 2009 Soho Pleated Hobo #F13730?
Newer bags seem to have more exotic color names...any idea? I'd call it bone.
Thanks in advance for any and all info!

It's authentic but I don't know the color name (as given by Coach).
