Hello Coach Gang!

I have a couple of bags that I picked up today for $1 each at a thrift that I would like authenticated, if you would!
I'm really hoping these are real because I got them for such a reasonable price!

The first bag is a white/bone colored leather flap bag with a drawstring reminiscent of bucket bags. It is a thinner leather, different from other vintage Coaches that I've handled. Has vintage "Coach Leatherware" hangtag. This purse also has some spots and stains - is there any place on the forum where I could learn how to clean it? Or does somebody have some tips for me here?

The second bag is a heavy, thick leather black messenger/crossbody. This is stamped Made in New York City. It has no hangtag. Measures about 10 x 8.5 inches.

If you could, in addition to the authentication, I would really appreciate knowing style number/names and approximate age of production.

Many thanks!

Authenticity? :help:

Item: Vintage Coach 307 Green Leather Crossbody Handbag & Keyring
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-COA...36fy7Y309%2FvLt%2FllE%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
Seller: tjpholdings
Comments: Listing Ended. I was successful bidder and ready to pay, but would like confirmation that this is an authentic Canteen? In reading back I see that it is often counterfeit. If not a Canteen, can someone identify?

Thanks!

It's an authentic Chester bag 9901.
The leather teardrop keychain is authentic too, style 7210.

So.... I'm trolling eBay checking out the listings and come across this. Tell me what you think:huh:

Description: Antique Coach Purse

Seller: lashandaboogerqueen

Item no. 290946762544

Link: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/290946762544

Comment: do you dare buy this?
It looks okay pending a legible picture of the creed.

Note though that it's NOT "antique" as described by the seller. It was made in 2002 so at 11 years old, it's not even close to being vintage. (I have no idea how old "antique" is!)

ETA: I had to giggle when I read the "seller notes."

"Selling as is, if this bag is authentic is on you I am not a purse expert this bag is from my mother she bought the darn purse and never used it so if you want it here it is if not don't go asking me a million questions or telling me this oe that about eBay I am just selling my items like the next woman/man!”

Wow.. Aside from the fact that a 2002 style is hardly "antique", I'd say that seller deserves whatever he/she gets - a seller with that attitude doesn't deserve to find a buyer!

Wow, and only 9 feedbacks, and already one negitive. Nice.
Removed for disclaimer of authenticity. She got what she deserved.

The first one is from the Lightweights collection, hence the thinner leather. It looks like shoulder pouch #4025 from 1987. You can get tips on how to clean it and fix it up from the rehab thread in the Clubhouse section of the forum.

The second one is probably a classic pouch #9170, considered one of Coach's original styles. It was made any time from the mid-70's up to 1988.

Great deals!
