Amen! And now that everyone is lugging around SmartPhones and tablets and eReaders and heaven knows what else, Coach seems determined to force us to carry smaller bags. I'm not sure what they expect us to do with all that other stuff.

Sure, styles like the Penny are cute, but they can only be everyday bags if you're also using a briefcase or backpack. Heck, my regular-size wallets barely fit in one. What am I supposed to do with my phone and my keys? And they seem absolutely determined to eliminate all outside pockets from their handbags. Sorry, guys, I don't like fishing in the bottom of my purse for my keys or my shopping list. GIVE ME BACK MY OUTSIDE POCKETS!!!! :pout:
Amen to that!

Thank you so much, I definitely will! I tried to research, but kept finding conflicting information & I read that this style was one of the ones replicated a lot. Then I got worried & noticed the 2nd seller refer to this site & figured I had better post. I appreciate you taking the time to investigate these for me. I have ALOT to learn about Coach bags!
You're welcome.

I just thought of another question. Do the fakes often come with fake price tags?

Yes, tags, paperwork, care cards, dust bags, hang tags are all faked.

Style 9755 is the Pocket Purse, and yes, it DOES have a back outside pocket. Except for the back pocket and the size it's very similar to the Convertible Clutch # 9635 that you bid on.

It was introduced around 1987 and temporarily discontinued in the early 1990s. All those early vintage versions will have a random serial number so you'll have to search for "Pocket Purse". Coach briefly re-issued the style in Spring 1997 so you might find both old and new styles if you search for the style number since the 1997 bags will have the style number as part of the serial number. The catalog listings for both Holiday 1987 and Spring 1997 are below.

BTW, always check the strap length. Not only were the vintage versions available with 2 different strap lengths, but some owners actually chopped down the straps when the fashion switched to carrying bags higher up instead of at hip length. It's happened to a lot of older Coaches.

Here's a hint on searching Ebay - when you're looking for a style and want to use more than one search term, use the "Advanced" search link. Scroll down a bit and check off the box that says "Search Title and description". Then select the Clothing Shoes & Acessories link from the dropdown menu. In the top main Search box enter - exactly like this:

coach ("pocket purse",9755)

or all the style names and numbers in parentheses separated by commas and no spaces. You'll have to wade through a bunch of other stuff but at least you'll find the listings where the seller has used the correct names.

@Hyacinth @Whateve I got the reseller to post more picture on the purse, please let me know what your thoughts on this. Thanks again! Also, I saw some line mark on top of the serial number, does that mean anything as I saw a few cases like that. Thanks!

It is authentic. This one has the style number in the creed. It was made in 1995. The marks above the numbers are overstamping marks. What you are seeing are the imprints of the numbers or letters that are above the number on the stamp (think of it as a wheel). So the line above the M is the bottom of an L. Sometimes counterfeiters fake the overstamping marks.
