Can someone please authenticate this Coach Leatherware bag?
Approx. 9"w x 5"h x 2"d. Strap drop 22"
This is another bag from my MIL's downsizing...again, never used since around 2005 I'd guess.
I believe this is a Dinky Bag #9375, as I also have this bag in bone.
Any idea of age and color. Was Camel an option in this era? She's lighter than BT.
All info is much appreciated. TIA!

Thank you, Hyacinth for both of my authentications. The Dinky is much more gold than putty. I'll have to look up the hangtag colors you posted a while ago. Thanks again!

See, this is why trying to guess a color from a photo or catalog is useless. Printed or digitized colors are almost never the same shade as they appear in Real Life because there are so many variations not just in camera settings and computer adjustments, but also in lighting and printing processes.

Your photos to my eyes look to be EXACTLY the same color as a different style bag from the same time period in one of Coach's catalogs, and that color is clearly labeled as Putty. So if the actual bag you have is more gold-colored, it's kind of hopeless trying to pin a color name on it when I can't see the exact color of the bag and if the catalog photo isn't visually accurate either. That's why I don't get involved in trying to figure out colors in photos especially when they're brownish or tan shades. Coach just made too many similar colors in those shades.

I agree with Whateve. Coach doesn't authenticate and generally, they aren't even familiar with bags that aren't currently in their stores. With an 8-year old bag, you probably would be asking a kid who was in elementary school at that time that bag was made and wouldn't know the answer to your question. And generally, as history has shown, if they don't recognize a style, they deem it fake --- whether there's any basis in that finding.

The pouch is authentic and you can enjoy it knowing that it's real.

Oops...I meant the first one. Hyacinth said that she wasn't sure, so I'm a little worried about the first bag, which is the Coach Daypack. Can I get any opinions on its authenticity? What other signs should I look for? So sorry for the mixup, guys.

Hi! Great forum.
Its great to have all the reference information.
Thank you for all of your time informing the public on making good purchases.:smile1:

New student/collector here. I'm trying to learn as much as I can.

I was wondering if you could authenticate this bag for me?

I have and will been reading for days! Thanks for your help. I love coach bags but admired them from afar for way too long.

Hi There,

I've been away from PurseForum too long that I had forgotten about the Authentication thread before making a purchase.

I have already won this auction, but it would give me peace of mind if you lovely people could tell me if this is real/fake.

Also, I am interested in this particular item as well. If you could authenticate it for me!

Both bags are authentic. The second item was made in China so the leather might not be as thick as the leather on the first bag.

ETA: Wait for another opinion about the Willis. I'm not sure when they added the last line to the creed. I have a bag from 2001 that doesn't state it, but it wasn't made in China. Maybe they started using it in China earlier than at other plants.

Hi everyone! Whenever anyone has a moment, could you authenticate a bag I bought today at Boomerangs Thrift store for 12.00. Also, I would like to apologize to BeenBurned for wasting her time. Earlier, I ased for an authentication of a boag I bought last week that was already authenticated. I can only blame my dopiness on a nasty head cold! I believe this is called a Mercer Messenger bag? The serial# is K1J-7435-the pics of the creed weren't the best..
