Sorry, I can't verify that one. The plant code E in the serial number belongs to Italy, not the US as it claims in the body of the creed. I doubt if Coach would have used the same plant code that was currently being used for their Italian plant, especially when the Italian plant was in full production at that time. They had plenty of fully operating plants in the US and could have made bags there instead of "borrowing" the identity of a different plant. I can't say positively that it's fake, but the invalid plant code means it may not be genuine. It could be something as simple as a stamping mistake or could be something more serious.
EDITED TO ADD - The genuine Murphys also have a very distinctively-shaped padded area at the top of the leather turnlock tab that this one doesn't seem to have.
The D-rings for the strap are also a bit farther away from the edge than maybe they should be.

ONE MORE ETA - the real Murphys in other listings don't have a center seam on the base of the bag. The chance of it being genuine just got a lot smaller, sorry.
