Hello I found this purse at my local goodwill. the leather feels great, but I was initially thrown off by the industrial zipper but read this was how some coaches were made in the 70s?

Please let me know if any other photos would help!

Are both sides of the bag the same? If not please post photos of both sides, also please give the bag's measurements. Thanks!

Thank you for the information and your time. Because of the sellers errors and contradictory info I just wanted to make sure the bag was worth my time. I understand what you mean about pricing it above retail. I hadn't thought of that. I appreciate everyone's help.

If anyone on here wins this auction, I am just DYING to know what bag you'll actually get!! ;)

The style number listed on the bag just looks odd. Is this authentic? Thanks.
The bag is fake. The style number, 5130 is for a station bag and this is not a station bag.

ETA: It appears that the bag was already sold once. I wonder if the buyer realized it's fake and didn't follow through.

He everyone! I amw ondering if these two bags are authentic? I know some of the small pouches/bags sometimes don;t have creeds.....is the black one called a Trail bag? As always, thanks a bunch! :tpfrox:

The black one is not called a trail bag. Somebody started calling it that and it has caught on but it is really called a Legacy flap. The other one looks like a Scooter bag. Others I've seen have creeds. Maybe this one has a creed but you just can't see it in the picture? If it doesn't have a creed, how would you know it was a real Coach? Some smaller bags have a creed but don't have a serial/style number.

The black one is a Legacy Small Flap. The tan one has a creed too, look closely and you'll see it, but the seller probably couldn't get a photo and didn't bother to put the serial numbers in the listing so I can't be 100 percent sure it's real but it looks like a Scooter Bag, 9893.

(ETA - Looks like I'm slowing down again, Whateve!)

Hi,

I'm new here & trying to authenticate a Murphy handbag. The creed # is: L5E-9930. I'm not able to get a good photo of it.

ALL: I feel like a ding dong. I'm trying to figure out how to post photos & don't understand the instructions. Please help. Thanks so much!)

Thanks.

I figured it out!

Thanks ladies and Hyacinth, you have better eyes than I do - I enlarged the screen looking for the creed but didn't see it.....just so I understand, Whateve, if a small bag or pouch does not have a creed, are you saying there is aboslutely no way to authenticate it? I just want to understand for future shopping. thanks!

No, not necessarily but all newer items have at least a Coach tag sewn into the lining and the older wallets and cosmetic cases usually had the Coach logo somewhere on the item. It would be really unusual for the item not to have the Coach name somewhere on the item. There is someone on ebay right now listing a station bag that doesn't say Coach anywhere on the item and she is claiming that it is a really old Coach, but how does she know? I've seen the same style produced by other companies.

welcome to tpf!

You can post pictures in one of two ways.

In the reply box, there's a paper clip at the top of the box. Click and find the pictures in your computer and upload them.

Sometimes the pictures are too large so you might either have to resize them or use a photohosting site like photobucket.

If you open a free photobucket account, you can upload the pictures to there and post the [IMG} links. The pics will be embedded into the post.

Hi, I am needing help with the Coach Haversack that I have. I'm sure it is authentic, but for some reason it doesn't have the legacy stripe lining??? Anyone know why it wouldn't? Everything else looks & feels fine on the bag.....
