love the look of this bag but I vaguely remember discussion about bags with "bean bag" in the creed and then found this conversation: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/coach-bean-bags-on-ebay-161309.html#post3405853

Is this one real? Thanks!

That's a very old discussion. Since then I've been unable to find any proof that there was ever a Bean Bag creed in any handbag Coach ever made. Please check the Salearea Guides for more information:
http://search.reviews.ebay.com/memb...&pr=salearea&uaid=41262657&uan=salearea&uqt=g

The creed stamping itself is wrong, there's too much depth at the top of the letters. The spacing is also wrong - too much room at thew bottom and the "COACH" logo isn't centered in the cartouche, and the spaces between words in the same line is too different.

My fake bean bag purse has the same font for the creed. The creed looks identical to this one except for the serial number - I'm amazed that they would have used seemingly unique serial numbers for fakes.

During the era when the Made in the United States was across the bottom of the creed and the serial numbers were unique, the word Leatherware was below the word Coach in the lozenge, but seems to be missing from these bean bag creeds.

My fake Bean Bag also has a completely different number than the others, and I've seen several diffferent designs and formats. There aren't any "Rules" about Bean Bag creeds either. Here are just some of them:

That last one is obviously fake. It seems like they all have the "Made in the United States" in common. The font of mine and the first two examples look similar to the real Coach bean bag keychain. I assume it was made in the early 90's? I don't have any authentic bags with a similar font.

And a few more...

Yep, the "Made in the United States" is the only thing they have in common. Some are obvious fakes, and some like the Spectator styles are good enough to fool anyone except for that one little word in the creed.

It always makes me wonder how many fakes have been so good that no one could possibly spot them unless they had both the fake and a genuine one in their hand for comparison.

Or some fakes so good that there isn't any way to tell, even when you have them side by side. My DH keeps saying that they make the fakes in the same factories as the real thing.

If they can get every detail right and then make a stupid mistake like putting bean bag in the creed, it almost seems like they wanted to make it possible to tell them apart - like signing their work the way counterfeit artists do.

The last one might be genuine, please don't report it unless I can find enough information to confirm.
EDITED TO ADD - The Double Pocket Backpack is genuine.

The "Patricia's Legacy" 9951 is definitely fake. Invalid plant code, fake hardware especially the strap buckles, fake serial stamp thats one solid piece, wrong inside pocket design
Thanks. I wasn't sure of that last one.

Here's an example of a listing for a genuine bean bag. (Picture will be posted too because the link won't stay live forever.)

Hi, I'd like your help authenticating this one:

Coach patent leather handbag, large Zoe style, brown
Listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/12106713005...l?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=121067130056&_rdc=1
Item: 121067130056
Seller: nkraft1
Comments: The seller originally didn't have the creed posted but was nice enough to quickly post that picture after I requested it. I am wondering if I should be concerned that the price tag pictured starts with "F" but the creed and brown full price hang tag don't. I am not sure if that white price tag just means that it is a delete that was sold at the outlet, but then why would they have the brown full price tag as well? And I'm just a bit skeptical since the seller has only sold three items.

Thanks so much!
