The serial code appears to be ADR9966. I thought that the second digit should be a number, indicating the year it was manufactured. And which country of origin would the R indicate?

You are correct about the ADR prefix - the bag is a fake. Even the wording on the creed is wrong for a leather bag.

Be careful when telling sellers why their items are fake - there are way too many slimy sellers who just remove any photographs showing the "evidence" you've mentioned and re-list the fake.

I believe the right procedure, according to ebay, is to report a fake using the report button. Sellers really do need to have designer items authenticated BEFORE they list them.

However, I know there are ebay members who do contact sellers all the time to warn them that they have a fake listed. (I have done it myself in the past). Some sellers appreciate the warning, but many, not so nicely, tell you to mind your own business or they will report you to ebay for harassment.
