If you can bear with me for one more question (you have been more than helpful) - here is a photo of a creed of a handbag purchased on eBay (i have a couple pix, hard to photo detail). Here's my question: What is the bullet/bullseye in the upper left corner of the creed?

If you can direct me to information on what the letters mean in the creed, I'd also appreciate it. I understand what the numbers mean, but not letters.

Links to interpreting a serial number have been posted at the Answers To Authenticity Questions for a long time, if you really want to learn more about Coach you need to to read through that long thread especially the last few years of posts and keep the link Bookmarked so you can search it for information.

The mark on the corner of that creed is what Coach full-price stores stamp in an item they send to the outlets. It does NOT prove the item's authentic since we've seen it used several times in fakes too.

The bullet stamp means that the bad was transfered from a FP store to an outlet. Try this thread for info on serial numbers. Post #34

wow, thank you for the mini-lesson. Your examples and pictures are really good references to me- thank you so much. Given the information above, what do you think about this listing? I'm going to see if I notice differences... It says "op art" but its not, and one photo shows three hang-tags but not the other. Real? Why would a real bag start at .99? Is that suspect?

You're welcome. Happy to help.

For the above listing, I'm posting in the format requested on post #1 of the thread. It's helpful in searches for listings and seller IDs.

I'd like to wait for other opinions on this bag. I don't know whether it's authentic or not. Except for the following picture, everything else looks okay.

But in this picture, compared to a known authentic bag, the two rivets (on the listing you are asking about) look to be further apart than on the blue one. The D-ring also looks larger on the bag in question.

I hope someone has this bag, preferably in the color shown and can do a comparison.

I just bought a Coach Maggie in Midnight. The hangtags and zipper look real. There's a Coach pricetag still attached. The bag looks real, but the creed is on a metallic gold material - and is not stamped as deeply as my other Coach bags. is this common?

I own this bag (Midnight Mags), and have it in my possession. If you post a pic of the creed and of the bag, I can help you out.
You cannot go by another bags creed...to be sure of authenticity, you need to post a pic of YOUR creed. :D
The bag in the listing you posted is authentic.

But in order to comment on your bag, we need to see pictures of it.

Is this purchase from an ebay (or online) listing? It's helpful to see the listing. That's why we request posting in the format requested here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-694619.html#post19464109

The bag looks fine. That's the correct creed for that bag.
