The reason we ask that posters use the format requested in the first post in this thread - please be sure to do that in future posts - is that sellers and even auction numbers can be Searched, and the same item doesn't have to be looked at over and over. A Search of the seller's name will using the Search link near the top of the page will find the post.

Sorry Hyacinth for creating more work for you. Thanks for all you do. I tried to look up other things I wanted authenticated in the past, using instructions given at beginning of this thread or somewhere, & I guess I got it wrong because I found numerous posts for same style number, which is what I was searching by. Now what I think you're saying is if we search by listing number then we should be able to see the exact purse here if it has already been authenticated. Is that what I should do?

Searching by listing number works as long as it's a recent or current listing. Searching by the seller's name gives you the extra advantage of being able to see if there are any negative posts about that seller or their listings. The problem with some Ebay IDs is that the tPF forum software doesn't recognize some characters, like _ so if you try to search for "le_franco_ricain" one of our regular "mixers" who mixes real and fake, you won't find it. Google will recognize the _ character and link to the posts here, but the tPF forum software doesn't.

1. Authentic Watermelon Tote. I have the same bag (different color) and mine has the brass kisslock frame. Some othes have the frame covered with leather.

2. You're right. The "S" makes it fake. Plus the font on the creed looks odd too.

3. I don't recognize the bag, though it looks OK to me. Hyacinth should look at that one to be sure. I've seen messier creeds that are OK.

Second is definitely fake, it also has silver hardware which wasn't even used in 1995.

Third is okay, I've seen plenty of triple dashes like that.
