:roflmfao: I know when I search for a purse I always put "free spirit" in the search box, cuz I don't want any rigid, right wing, conservative purse!

And I also put "people" in the Search Box, since I don't want a bag made for space aliens or Giant Squids. :D

Hi,

Could someone please authenticate this purse. It has the brass color wearing off the feet which I wouldn't expect of a real Coach.

That bag was already authenticated two or three days ago.

The reason we ask that posters use the format requested in the first post in this thread - please be sure to do that in future posts - is that sellers and even auction numbers can be Searched, and the same item doesn't have to be looked at over and over. A Search of the seller's name will using the Search link near the top of the page will find the post.

Hello, I was hoping for a little insight as to this purses authenticity. Thank you for providing this valuable service!

A little reading will give you some idea of what a genuine Coach creed and serial number look like:

SALEAREA GUIDES

Serial Numbers:

Creeds;

Coach also usually manages to cut and sew their fabrics and patches in straight lines. And they always follow standard Ameri-English punctuation rules. And C patterns are either straight or at 45-degree angles.

Hi. I don't know anything about vintage Coach bags and picked this up at a resale shop. The number is No. 0337-230. Could you please tell me if it's authentic? Thanks!

Hi, I was wondering if you could authenticate this fob? I have never seen it before and there isn't a style# listed. TIA

seller: designeraccessories365

eBay Listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Coach-L...=635741874213216995&pid=100011&prg=1005&rk=4&

That's because it's a "chop shop" remake of a much larger keyfob - you're being cheated by not getting the entire thing. Here's the genuine complete keychain:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NWT-Coach-G...pt=US_Women_s_Accessories&hash=item2572647deb

Some - I'll call them greedy - sellers buy keychains, some genuine and some fake, and take them apart. Then they make a keychain out of each individual charm and often sell the "chopped" one for the same price as the genuine and complete keychain would sell for. Technically they can't call it a "Coach keychain" since Coach is NOT the final manufacturer, but many do and get away with it. One other problem is that it's a bit harder to tell if the charm itself is from a fake keychain when the rest of the charms and parts are gone.

My personal opinion is that the buyer is getting cheated since most of the time they think they're buying a complete, genuine item. But the ACTUAL keychain # 92946 is shown below. There are a lot of these butchered pieces on Ebay, from this seller and others. EVERYTHING this seller has listed is Chopped from something else, if you look at her listings you'll probably recognise many of the charms. Coach NEVER makes jewelry or keychains with just one small thin metal charm, that should always be a huge red flag.

I personally would NEVER waste my money or justify what the sellers are doing by buying one of them. JMO.

Thanks for the quick reply. I had a feeling that it was not right because it was so small on that hook. I am learning so much from being a member of TPF. Thank you for the great explanation of "chopped" fobs. I really appreciate it.

The first and second listings are for a genuine Metropolis Flap bag from 1996 and 1997. The third listing is a complete mess and the description AND the serial number in the listing don't match the bag in the photos, which was made at least 10 years before the other 2 bags and can't be compared to either of them.

Thanks a bunch! I think i'm just a little confused about the leather quality. The leather feels extremely smooth. Maybe it's just the leather treatment for that specific color that gives it kind of a fake look.
