Small differences in the hardware are always possible, without being able to see them and to feel the leather in person I really can't give an opinion. Leather differences can just be due to different batches of leather or different dye processes.

The W plant doce seems ok, probably one of the last US plants and apparently was only open for a few years in the early 2000s before production of the remaining leather bags was switched permanently to China. I've seen other leather bags with that code and several of them had outlet stamps, so those are more likely to be genuine.

Thanks, Hyacinth...I gave the brown one a good looking-at after reading your reply and found no outlet stamp...the leather is certainly different, much stiffer and much smoother on the suede side. I think it will remain a mystery!

Based on the seller's measurements, I believe it's an authentic "Saddle Pouch Standard", which is Coach's style number 9590.

Since the orange one was getting a bath this morning, I threw the brown one in too. The characteristics of the leather have changed significantly, with a nice "familiar" grain pattern appearing and a more overall supple feel. Who knows...I've also started looking for Abbies with similar codes that might give me a comparison.

I clearly understand the gamble we take in our thrifting...your many helpful comments and contributions here are certainly helpful in learning how to make better-educated guesses! Thanks again for your info and efforts!

It IS a fake. Tell the seller you'll be returning it for a full refund including shipping.

Coach never made a style that looks like that, the edges of all the slots are finished incorrectly and should never be stitched, the Coach stamp in the last picture is fake and in the wrong place, the Coach stamp on the white "leather" tab is also fake, too big and has the wrong font. It also doesn't belong there. The "leather' looks like vinyl, the stitching is crooked, the buckle and buckle hole grommets are not the kind Coach uses - NOTHING about that wallet is even close to genuine.

I don't care how nice the seller is, it's their responsibility to make sure their items are genuine BEFORE they list them. Please, next time ask here before you bid - that wallet absolutely SCREAMS "fake".
