No, Hyacinth, the listing was NOT removed the second time. I think you're looking at the link to the original listing.

Here's the current listing that was reported about 4 hours ago and is still up and running. So much for "trusted reporters" flags getting priority treatment. :(
http://www.listia.com/auction/5117693-coach-bag

And here's an example of why CluelessinWA's request that we comment and flag the listing doesn't work. (This happens to be a fake Prada bag, but I've been told that the poster who commented is blocked. That person can no longer flag the seller's items or even search them.)
The seller is xo143xo and instead of ending her own listing (which would have been the right thing to do, she hid the comment and blocked the commenter.)

I'm done trying to keep Listia afloat too.

Not only has the listing for the really bad fake scribble bag been relisted after having been removed, but now, "Moderator Camila" posted to DISCLAIM Listia's responsibility even though the bag is deemed fake and even though she can look at the seller's history and see that the same fake was previously removed! Note that MOderator Camila's comment was posted hours after the bag was deemed as fake (for the second time in as many days.)

Done, done and DONE!

Actually, the person who commented on the collection of your item was correct. If you'd be so kind as to post a link, it will be confirmed.

Penelope was NOT around 11 years ago (in 2001). Sorry, you aren'tvindicatedyet.

This was the item, though this isn't your listia listing, but instead, where you're selling it somewhere else. It's NOT penelope.

okay so now I'm confused...
1) the comments I was referring to were on a listia listing of a similarly styled, canvas bag...http://www.listia.com/auction/5043348-coach-cream-handbag

2) but those comments got me to thinking about my own bag because I like to know what I am selling and it was listed elsewhere as Penelope as apart of an anniversary collection.

So, if its not Penelope, does anyone know what it is...and more importantly is it authentic?

I've got conflicting opinions on this one...

Thanks!

I knew it was a Penelope as the person I brought it from said it was from the anniversary collection.

Thanks ever so much! #feelvindicatedandauthenticated!

Oh, dear! You are vindicated! I apologize. Hyacinth has dozens of catalogs and she obviously did her homework; something I didn't do before posting.

I was basing the "Hamptons" collection on the style of flap as in these listings for similar items:

There's always got to be a know-it-all in every crowd, doesn't there?

I'm assuming the other person is NOT a tPF member? The other person needs to get off her duff and study Coach's history. Coach has re-used some style and line names over and over again. "Legacy" is probably the champion, including the ones coming this fall there have been at least 5 separate AND different Legacy lines that I know of. Madison, Gramercy, Sonoma, Bleecker, Hamptons, as well as Penelope are just a few of the names that have been recycled.

If your correspondant wants to post here and try to convince me that she's an expert on older Coaches, she's welcome to try. Meanwhile you might want to let her know that Coach did about a dozen Penelope styles in 2001 and 2002 including some fabric and leather combos, but most were leather like:

Penelope Satchel, style 9713
http://web.archive.org/web/20011212022315/http://www.coach.com/shop/thumbnail.asp?category_id=68

Penelope Demi, style 9712
http://web.archive.org/web/20011212...tegory_id=68&index=24&sort_by_price=&show_bc=

and
Penelope Bucket, style number unknown
http://web.archive.org/web/20011120...tegory_id=68&index=72&sort_by_price=&show_bc=

The pages are scans of Coach's website from late 2001 by the Wayback Machine, and several styles were also in Coach's 2001 Holiday catalog. If the Wayback pages don't work, I have scans of the pages.

If the other person IS a tPF member she needs to learn to be careful when talking about subjects she knows nothing about.

ETA:
Oh Booger... BB, you can smack me with a baseball bat any time that's convenient.

I need a vacation.

In Listia's defense....

Fake Scribble bag, fake style, trim color, wrong color hardware. BAD ripoff of a Scribble Stitch style:
http://www.listia.com/auction/5086014-coach-bag (I REMOVED)

Note you cant see this ( because its been removed) but when the moderator posted the authentication PCM, there were only two requests asking for more image, no where did it say ( at the time) anything about the purse being discussed on the purse forum, or insinuating that the purse was not authentic, BeenBurned is being very unfair. IMHO

http://www.listia.com/auction/5117693-coach-bag ( I REMOVED and seller issued a listing warning)

YES the second scribble fake WAS removed!!

The seller is xo143xo and instead of ending her own listing (which would have been the right thing to do, she hid the comment and blocked the commenter.)
http://www.listia.com/auction/510045...-free-shipping ( I REMOVED, Warning issued)

Listia fake: http://www.listia.com/auction/511243...onogram-wallet
Seller: battybetty ( REMOVED and warned)

( we have a bunch of brand new mods and they don't have removal privileges)

WHY IS BEENBURNED Sabotaging Listia's Efforts, She chose to step down from Listia, Yes I am Moderator Joe and I AM clueless in Washington.. Auctions may not be removed IMMEDIATELY as soon as they’re found to be fake, but they shouldn’t be allowed to complete/finish.

Please Hyacinth, I need help, Listia needs help, perhaps a code phrase could help us, to let us (Listia Moderators) know the item is fake , but not alert the seller, so they would have no reason to block.. we let them ( the seller) know when we remove the item, why the listing was removed. and then we send a warning. It could work....

Stumbled across this bag and I love the color but a pic of the creed wasn't provided. I'm waiting on a pic of the creed but in the meantime I would love for someone to take a look at it.

Willis tan/camel
Seller: Lacey4070
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/160791370362?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2648

In particular, I'm curious to know if coach made a Willis bag this color and what years they would have been made.

The color in the photos looks a lot like British Tan, and they made that almost every year they made a Willis Bag.

Hi Ladies,
I know this is a bit late, as I already bought it yesterday, but could you please authenticate this one for me? It looks Ok, but I value your opinions. Thanks as always

It was on Etsy
LInk: http://www.etsy.com/listing/1031390...ype=all&ga_facet=vintage/bags_and_pursescoach
Seller ID: giselaandzoevintage
Item number: sorry, I'm not sure where this is, or if Etsy has them??

It's the "Suspender Bag" which is style number 9490.

I have the same one in black.

That's a beautiful one.
