Thankyou i will see if the seller will do a refund.

NO - you don't "see if she will do a refund". You TELL HER THAT THE WALLET IS A CONFIRMED FAKE AND YOU WANT A FULL REFUND.

Selling fakes is not only against Ebay rules and can get her suspended, it's also against US law. Start a Dispute Claim with Ebay if the seller gives you any trouble.

You're not bugging me! I'm glad if I can help in a small way.

#1. I don't know that bag and I don't see a creed photo or a style number. I doubt it's a Cashin design, though I could be wrong. I'll bet Hyacinth knows!

#2. It's the Basic Bag/Zippered Clutch (style 9455) which I *think* has been around since about 1974. I have an email from the Cashin Foundation that says Bonnie was the sole designer for Coach from 1962 to 1974. If both of those things are accurate, I think the Basic Bag would almost have to be a Cashin design. Can't prove it, though.

That bag was made later than 1974, so IF it's her design it was made after she left Coach.

Coach is still making that bag, though the strap is different than the older ones.

:smile1:

I'd really need a creed photo for the first one. It's no fun trying to look through 20 years of catalogs and photos unless I have something that at least gives me a clue to what time period I need to check, and what the bag's measurements are. BTW, it looks like there might be an outlet mark on it which definitely means it's not a Cashin. I keep wanting to say Casino Bag but I'm not sure. But it's at least 20 years after Cashin if it is.

ETA - Just checked, and it's not. Keep looking ... Not a Regina Bag either...

GOT IT! Manor Bag, #9977 from 1997

dwhitehurst, any time a seller calls something a Cashin, assume it ISN'T until proven otherwise. Ninety percent of so-called "Cashins" aren't. Most of the sellers using the term wouldn't know a real Cashin if it flew up their noses.

Anyone who thinks it's easy trying to visually scan several thousand 100x100-pixel photos looking for small details is welcome to try it sometime. :D

1st - NOT vintage, and not from 1993! I'm not sure where the seller supposedly learned to find the year code but she's miles away on this one, it's from 2007 if she's selling the actual bag in the photos. The bottom corners look pretty worn for a 5-year old handbag.

2nd - from 1999, and not "vintage". Looks genuine

3rd - please read the seller's collected Negative and Neutral Feedback at Toolhaus.org. There seem to be quite a few people who feel what they bought didn't match the description or the photos:
http://toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?User=renee1victor3&Dirn=Received+by&ref=home

Not only does the seller's Feedback throw up all kinds of red flags but they're showing photos of two COMPLETELY different briefcases! The serial number is from a bag made around 1990, but the Gallery photo is of a newer bag. You can even see the difference in the strap between the two photos, and notice how the hangtag keeps moving around? There are other posts here about this seller, go to the main Coach forum and use the Search This Forum link near the top right, set it to show POSTS, and search the seller's name. This link will expire soon but you get the idea:
http://forum.purseblog.com/search.php?searchid=26886724

I won't try to authenticate anything from a questionable seller or from sellers who use photos of more than 1 of the same item to try and disguise the item';s condition.
I personally would be VERY careful with items sold by renee1victor3

4th - seems ok

5th - I need a clear creed and serial number photo

I had to say this made me chuckle. I read your assessments religiously and feel like I've got a decent feel for the older bags, but I certainly can't do what you do! I'd love to get to a point where I could do half as good a job as you do. So, thank you for the education and for the laugh today. :-)

Hi Ladies,

This is a bag I possess that I have had for many, many years, purchased at my local boutique. There is a local buyer interested, and since I no longer have the original box or receipt, it may set her mind at ease a bit more if you lovely ladies could authenticate this bag. Then I could refer her to your opinion. I appreciate your help!

It's genuine, and was called a Signature Shopper, made in 2002.

Item: "COACH BLACK LEATHER VINTAGE SHOULDERBAG"

Comment: any thoughts on this? I'd certainly appreciates second pair of eyes to see if I'm seeing what I think I'm seeing. I hesitate to spell it out in case I'm wrong, but I'm concerned about the serial #, the font on the serial number and the stitching on the creed patch. I can't see the rest well enough to tell if there are other concerns.

Thoughts?

I found this backpack / rucksack in an abandoned storage unit in the facility where I work. Inside was a little pamphlet about the Coach Travel Collection, but the bag that I had was not listed amongst the options. It also came with a registration card if that helps date it. It's a black nylon-esque (the literature says Travel Twill) bag with a removable sleeve. I've Googled for hours trying to find if this bag even exists or is a fake or a figment of my imagination. I've got some photos here in a Dropbox folder:

I appreciate any info someone might be able to offer.

I've seen a couple of these signature bags. Is this bag authentic and when did Coach introduce it's signature line? Thanks.

It's genuine, but I can't find a name for it, maybe someone else can ID it. Many of the Travel and Business items never made it into Coach's catalogs and that's the only source I have.

It was probably be from either the Hamptons or Mercer line and was made in 2001.

There's nothing in my files on that number but it looks like one of the Zoe Hobos from that year. I don't see any problems with either of the bags or the mini.

The Signature C-pattern styles were introduced in 2000 although Coach had used the name "Signature" a few years earlier for a few all-leather styles.

One more from me:
Item: Coach Anderson(?) zip
Seller: misc Craigslist (possibly same seller as my previous one which felt iffy to me)
Link: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/clo/3101626945.html
Comment: any thoughts on authenticity of this bag? If authentic, how common are these? I don't know that I've seen (or noticed) one before.

It's called an Anderson Zip and it's NOT supposed to be 2-tone. The outer leather layer has been either re-dyed, treated or conditioned with something that seriously darkened the leather. I'd avoid it unless you can find out what it's been treated with and how easy it would be to clean.

I believe this is a Taft bag if authentic. I am pretty smitten with her so I hope she is the real deal:
Creed # H5D-9980
(sorry I had to use a flash instead of good daylight lighting and I swear my pc only flips the creed patch photos just make me nuts because it never happens any other time on here!!)
She's almost 13"w X 10"h X and maybe 6"d when you factor the outer pocket etc.
Strap drop about 22". T..I..A..!!!
