I would like to know why the modern "classics" line is made with thinner leather than "originals"? Thanks!

As I said in the previous answer, it's a modern City Bag made in 2011. Not vintage, and there's no problem with the zero - newer creed stamps are designed to have at least a 5-digit style number so a zero has to be added to the 4-digit "original" style numbers when Coach uses them.

And it's NOT one of the ones they "brought back", those are made of a much lighter leather. About a dozen of the older leather and early Signature bags never left, they've been available straight through from the time they were originally made.

The new remakes are called "classics" by Coach, the ones that have been in production since they were originally made 10 or 15 or 20 years ago are called "originals" and you can always find them on Coach's website by using that search term.

OK, I got this one-sorry it's been in my watch list for about a week...bless those sellers who don't know what they're listing. I can't tell you how many green Willis I saw listed that were actually station bags.

Haha congrats! I really don't mind when I don't win, and tbh, once I've really set my rehab price limit low. I'm just glad to know it's going to someone who's going to love it.

And thanks, Hyacinth!

Late night request.....Could you authenticate this for me? I don't know the potential real name? Bonnie Cashin Box clutch?? There is no style number under the creed. The little metal gromets at the bottom of the frame have a "B". As you can see in the last picture the owner cut the long straps and tied them together!!

Thank you for your time!

It's authentic, though I'm not positive of the exact "name" Cashin or Coach chose for that style. I've seen it called a "Swinger" bag, a "Double Kisslock" bag and a "Framed Double Kisslock Swinger Bag".

I have the version with the chain straps and it's official name is the "Double Entry" bag.

Your bag was made in the later 1970's. Too bad about the straps. It's a cute little bag.

The "B" on the hinge is for Branson Manufacturing which is the company that made the hardware.

:smile1:

Because it's cheaper?

Coach claims it's to lighten the weight, and in the case of a style like a Duffle Sac I can see the need. But it also saves them money in the long run.

There's a thread at the main Coach forum that goes into detail about the differences and members' reactions to them:

Just bought this bag but haven't paid yet. Hope someone can help me authenticate. Thanks so much!

Comments: I think it's authentic. Just really need a second opinion

Definitely WAIT for others to comment. I'm not familiar with newer bags OR whether Coach has made mistakes in wording on other newer bags.

If you read the creed wording it says the bag is made from "full grain cowhide leather" and it's clearly NOT made of leather.

It looks odd BUT and even more worrisome is that this seller has received 3 Negatives for selling fake bags. And lots of there positives are from same people. That sends red flags to me.

Yes I saw that too. But then the seller guaranteed its authenticity by offering a moneyback guarantee. What's really bothering me is the brass hardware. does coach make bags with brass hardware?
