I was thrilled to find one of these. Please authenticate. It is about 8" by 5". It is a sort of purplish taupe color. I can't decide if the trim is a contrasting color or just faded. Any idea what the original color was? Did they make any of these in spectator colors? What is the name of this bag and the approximate year of production? Thanks.

Please post pictures including a picture of the creed. Is it a signature tote?

I didnt realize it until this posted but i can not upload pictures for some reason, This is my first post and I am still learning but I should be able to upload photos.
It IS a signature tote, looks and feels right just those few things throwing me. I thought maybe it was just an older bag (weird model number) but then I noticed the run together words in the creed. It says "handmadein" with no space. I will keep trying to attach photos

Run in words are almost always a sign of fake. I have never seen an authentic bag with that kind of mistake. Does your bag look like this one?

If you can't upload photos, it might be because they are too big or the wrong format. The easiest way to upload photos is to go advanced, click on the paper clip and upload from your computer. Usually you have to resize them before you upload. If that doesn't work, upload them to a photo hosting site like photobucket first.

It looks just like that only its brown and tan. Resizing now, cross fingers it works...last option "photobucket" ;)

OK, I got this one-sorry it's been in my watch list for about a week...bless those sellers who don't know what they're listing. I can't tell you how many green Willis I saw listed that were actually station bags.
That's funny. Most sellers have heard of Willis so they will often call anything a Willis. You actually have to know something about Coach to know about station bags. I wonder where this seller heard that it was a station bag. I got a station bag recently, and I was surprised at how much smaller it is than the Willis. Lucky you!

I am new to the forum but stoked to have stumbled on it! But I hope I am posting this correctly :smile1:
So, my loving husband purchased this Coach for me from a yard sale this morning and the woman SWORE she bought it from a Coach retailer. well, a couple things concern me. An suggestions to help are greatly appreciated!
1.The key tag seems to have some double stitching at the top
2. The creed has a run together wording...
3. I can not find any info online about this model #/ Serial #

model # F1K-6090
no other known info

You're very unlikely to find any records of older styles on the internet, simply because widespread use of the'net dfidn't really start untl after many of these styles had been made and then retired.

Sig styles were pretty new and so were the plants making them. Things like stitching and creed formats were still being tweaked as neded and were constantly changing.

All hangtags had several double stitches at the top.

The creed spacing is one of the things that kept changing. Later creeds from the same plant actually had the word "handcrafted" divided between the first and second rows and hyphenated, which Coach very seldom did unless the creed letters were just too crowded, like they were in this case. I HAVE seen early production bags with two words, sometimes more, very close together.

The Wayback Machine showing Coach's pages for December 9, 2001 show the bag as a Signature Lunch Tote, and the creed is consistent for the time and the plant. Based on other similar styles from that time I don't see anything that would make me doubt that it's real. The styles on Ebay showing serial numbers with "06" year codes are either Made For Factory styles or possibly a remake of the original that was briefly released to the full-price stores and then sent to the outlets.

It's a Shoulder Purse, style 9385, from around 1986. I don't have any idea what color it's supposed to be - you may have to give it a dunk to find out. I have almost no catalogs from that time so I can't give you any details on Spectator availability or colors, sorry.

Thanks. I love the kisslock pocket. It is soaking now.

It's authentic, though I'm not positive of the exact "name" Cashin or Coach chose for that style. I've seen it called a "Swinger" bag, a "Double Kisslock" bag and a "Framed Double Kisslock Swinger Bag".

I have the version with the chain straps and it's official name is the "Double Entry" bag.

Your bag was made in the later 1970's. Too bad about the straps. It's a cute little bag.

The "B" on the hinge is for Branson Manufacturing which is the company that made the hardware.

:smile1:
Great thanks for the info!! I'm so excited that its authentic!! Sad day I thought the "B" stood for Bonnie ;)

Also do you happen to know the original length of the straps for this swinger bag? I would like to get the straps replaced but would like to have the same length as they originally were. TIA if you know.
