I don't have a problem with the Nylon Zipper. I sold a Legacy Zip from 2001 or 2002 with that same type zipper and I've also had bags as old as 1995 with the nylon zipper.

I don't have any idea about the "202-3" stamped in gold.

Wait for other opinions.

Edited to add: Never mind, you already got another opinion.

:smile1:

Sorry I jumped ahead of you, DemRam! :D

But the "plastic zipper thing" is another piece of nonsense that shows up a lot in those bogus Authenticity Guides, so I figured as long as I was already in "Mid-Level Anti-Guide Rant Mode" I might as well carry it a bit farther. Or further.

I'm still wondering about that stamp though - I've never seen anything stamped in gold in any Coach, except for the Legacy-type creeds.

No problem! Sometimes it takes me so long to compose my thoughts and hit the post button - the board has moved on without me.

I've never seen a bag purchased directly from Coach with anything stamped under the inner pocket. I have seen writing (like an inventory number) on bags that came from a re-seller, like our local consignment shop for example. Never seen an actual stamp, though.

Comments: This doesn't look right to me but wanted to double check here as I am not expert. Thanks!

TERRIBLE fake style, please report. And the strap wrap isn't right either. Fake creed that's not even readable, fake zipper pull and REALLY fake cheap printed lining.
Ugh! Don't buy from gillian6246603. That seller wouldn't know a genuine Coach bag if it bit her!

She has 5 other current fakes in addition to the listing you've asked about:

There is nothing on this bag that would raise a red flag with me. As soon as you touch it you know it is a Coach. If this is a replica it is the most superior replica I've ever seen. No corners were cut anywhere, all the materials are Coach quality and I've looked this bag over with a jewelers eyeglass. I emailed a photo of the stamp to a friend who exports leather from Italy. He said this stamp was put on the leather before the purse was made. It is the tannery stamp that identifies where and when the leather was tanned, giving the leather a traceable source.

Ok, that makes sense. I don't see anything wrong with the bag either.

I have this bag and wonder if its authentic.
I was told when I bought it that it was not authentic.. but I buy and sell a good number and think it has all the marks for a Coach...
So....
This one is 15.5 wide, 9 tall 5 deep approx
(2 inches smaller than my 1990's Musette)
.. this one looks the same size as the pictured on Anne Hathaway.
It does not have an exterior slip pocket on the backwhich my 1990's one does have.. and does not have a zippered interior pocket... but other than than it has all same hardware, buckles, stitching ..quality, leather for
thank you
Cinza

For some reason, your thumbnails aren't opening with the forum's soft ware. I'm getting just a .gif that has to be opened with IE. No biggie, but it should just expand by clicking.

Are you sure your 1990s Musette IS a Musette? AFAIK Coach didn't make Musettes into the 1990s. If your bags have different pockets and are different measurements then they're NOT the same style.

The pics you posted look like a genuine Musette. The bag you described as a 1990s bag sounds exactly like a Carrier Bag style 9800 that came out in 1987 and was sold in the early 90s. It's decribed as having a full-length outside back pocket and an inside zipper pocket which sounds exactly like you newer bag. Coach's catalog listing from late 1990 is below and except for the size and the pockets it looks exactly like the Musette. And there's a pic of both from 1987.

And what kind of know-nothing told you the Musette wasn't genuine? Whoever it was, don't EVER go to him or her for ANY advice on Coaches because they wouldn't know genuine if it bit them in the nose. It's PERFECTLY genuine and a great vintage Coach. If the shoulder strap was longer I would have owned one of those long ago.

I honestly haven't read through ALL 76 pages, but I haven't seen much mentioned on Coach luggage. I was eyeballing this item, but there's no serial number and there are a number of things that raise my eyebrows: stitching a little off, plus a sloppy creed? (I know, you've mentioned sloppy creeds), NO serial number, "only" $150 purchased originally? (for a luggage bag?), and the wrapped handles...
