COACH BLACK LEATHER SATCHEL DOCTOR BAG STYLE HANDBAG
Item: 320747809660

Thank you.

It's genuine although it's more of a Portfolio-type satchel than a Doctor Satchel but that should be obvious from the measurements. It was originally called a Handle Clutch although later Coach changed the name to Slim Satchel Compact, the style # was 9425, and was made in the mid-1970s.

Comments: Please help authenticate. Duffle Sac J6D-9085. The bag looks strange to me. The rivets where the strap attached are in the wrong place and the leather is different where there as well (looks and feels cheaper). The zipper compartment's metal is faded/peeling. Pictures attached.

I can't say for sure whether it's real or not, we've seen a lot of possible fakes in that style and those lopsided rivets would make me worry. But it sure isn't "in very good pre-owned condition". You've taken photos of the wear and damage so I don't have to list them but if it were me, I'd be telling the seller I wanted to return it since the wear and the missing rivet half at the base of one strap wasn't disclosed.

Did you get more photos before you bid? Any time you're bidding on a used bag, avoid sellers who don't show a full gallery of photos. The seller didn't even show a creed photo. There are and will be dozens more of this style available on Ebay. Take your time and wait for the right one, from a seller who's not afraid to show exactly what you're bidding on.

Maybe someone more familiar with that style can take a look.

Me and the DH found this today at the Goodwill for $3. :yahoo:
The dimensions are: 10.25 H, 10.25 W, and 3.25 D!
I have been looking for this particular bag since I have started this vintage bag hunt!
I hope you girls can authenticate it for me and give me some info on it!
TIA!

It looks ok, it's a Willis Bag from 1998.

So, I got my bag today. I will be honest and say from the picture the seller posted on eBay it was hard to read where the bag came from. The auction was down to the last minute so I didn't have time to ask the seller what it said.

When I opened the bag the creed read: This is a Coach bag. It was handcrafted in Turkey of completely natural glove-tanned cowhide. The variations in the grain are characteristic of natural full-grain leather.
No L 62- 9790

This caught my attention because of the location and because I purchased an Ashley bag from the outlet not too long ago and the wording in that creed is completely different. I called the Coach customer service number and the lady assured me they do not make their products in Turkey.

Here are photos:
