I recently bought 2 inexpensive bags with the intention of using them to practice rehabbing. First, though, I'd like to know if they're real or fake. That will determine how much I "experiment" on them. They are both in my possession. Here are links to the Photobucket albums containing pictures I took:

Bag #1:

Bag #2:

http://s1240.photobucket.com/albums/gg481/AmbersAunt/Coach Purse Authentication 2/

Thank you very much!

They both look genuine, but I'd need measurements for both to try to identify them. Neither would probably be considered rare or hard to find so they probably would make good practice bags for your rehabbing. If you need names, please post back with measurements and I'll try to find some information on them.

Thanks! My measurements could be slightly off because the bags are so slouchy, but here's what I have. The first bag with the 2 outer pockets is about 9" wide x 7" tall x 2 1/2" deep. The second bag with 1 outer pocket is about 10" wide x 7" tall x 3" deep.

okay, I gotta ask... is this genuine... I am doubtful because the serial number is in the wrong format, it looks like it's printed crookedly...

Item:green bucket bag

Seller:tootiescloset

Comments: I don't want to report it as fake if it's not....

It IS in the wrong format, there's no valid year code. And the font they used for the serial digits is too large.

Please report.

#1 has me stumped. It might be a Camera Bag style 9760 from around 1988 although there's almost no information on it and it only mentions one outside pocket instead of two. But that's as close as I can come. I don't have anything even close to a complete record of the bags made during that time period so I'm really just guessing.

#2 seems to be a Slim Zip Bag from the Lightweight Collection and dates from around 1990-1992, style number 4018.

Please authenticate this bag. I may have made a terrible mistake. Most have different corners. But on the Coach website the new ones seem to be rounded like this. Please tell me if this is real? Thank you.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by rounded corners. The one you asked about seems to be ok.

I'm including 3 of Coach's own photos of the Court Bag from different time periods, please compare them and point out anything that doesn't look right.

It is the top corners of the inside front, and the way the pocket is joined. It is in this photo, you have to scroll down in original link, but this may work: I'll also include original link too below.

Most have the pocket sewn in differently, and the side piping comes up straight. Maybe they are from earlier times. Anyway, the seller says it is from 1991.

The seller is mistaken. Based on the serial number on the creed, the bag is from 1999. D9 = April, 1999.

A bag from 1991 would have had a random serial number.
