Welcome to the Purse Forum!

It's authentic and it was made in New York City sometime in the late 1970's through the later 1980's. The Coach name for the bag is the "Saddle Pouch Standard".

There were 2 sizes of the Saddle Pouch (that I know of) - one is the Saddle Pouch Large (approximately 11 x 9 x 2) and the Saddle Pouch Standard (approximately 9 x 7 x 2).

Very nice vintage bag!

:smile1:
Oh, thank you very much for all of the information! :)

Hey there, my mom bought me a bag she got in a vintage store, and I posted it and fellow coachies are telling me its probably fake can you double check for me? Thanks a lot

1. I believe its a Coach Patricia
2. No auction no link
3. Photos posted here in the forum, I don't know how to attach photos here

I agree that it's counterfeit, there are way too may fakes with that bogus serial number and year code for it to have been just a small mistake in stamping that slipped through Quality Control. And I've seen other bags with that same serial number that weren't Patricia's Legacy bags too. I've posted pics below of a fake Ergo Flap with that same fake Patricia's Legacy serial number.

I've also posted a reply to your post in the other thread:

I added a better creed photo. Thanks!

In addition to the differences Hyacinth pointed out, this enlarged picture of the creed shows the irregular stitch length across the bottom. The first stitch on the left is quite a bit smaller than the others and on the bottom right, the stitching slope up a bit.

Also, when comparing the differences between the two creeds, the spacing isn't the only difference. The stitching is slightly closer to the edges on the known authentic creed than it is on your creed.
This one also has the same amount of stitching. Is it authentic? I am just trying to compare. I am still stumped. Here is the Ebay item # 270801395919. Thanks!
I'm counting 18 stitches across the top of this one. (But it's leather. Not sure whether that might make a difference.)

When comparing small details like stitches, you can only compare bags that are the same style number from the same plant and time period. It seems that Coach plants would be pretty specific in the length and number of stitches used in things like creed patches. The bag with the black trim in the pictures I posted was the same style and from the same plant and month.

It's not PROOF that yours is counterfeit but it's an anomaly that needs to be considered. Is it the sign of a counterfeit, or was it just an inexperienced worker who overextended the stitches in one corner? And why the small differences in the creed stamp itself? And why are the edges of the patch so messed up - normal wear and tear, or poor quality leather that might indicate a fake? You usually don't see uneven black edging like that on any genuine Coach creed.

Again, not proof, but not the kind of things you usually see in a Coach either.
