Threads come loose over time. There's NOTHING wrong with that bag.
Thank you!!! I really like this bag so I was a little disapointed when I saw the thread... So good it is a real one. :D My only other doubt was that for other same style of this type of bag, I saw they all have the tags attached to the right side of the hoop, but this one has the tag on the left... But I guess this is not a big deal, right? I am just curious why would they attach tags on different sides if they were the same style? Thank you. :)

I wonder if they don't know it's fake and have been fooled like anyone else? They get their stuff from estate sales, I believe. Maybe someone should just politely let them know this bag is a fake. My correspondence with the seller was very friendly and they seemed to really love Coach bags, while perhaps not being totally educated about them.

Maybe as a customer, you might try contacting them and letting them know. Estate sales are notorious dumping grounds for fakes and they need to do a bit more research before buying or listing.

You can give them the links to the Fake Serial Numbers list both here and on Ebay:

Coach has changed the wording and layout of the creeds DOZENS of times of the years. Don't even think something's fake because it doesn't match another bag from a totally different style family or time period. And since the bag already says that it was hancrafted in the US in the body of the creed, why would they put it at the bottom? Did you read the creed?
Thank you again H! :) Now I feel relieved. Only one coach that I bought was fake out of 7...:D

Thank you so much!! Unfortunately, I already paid for it and have already received the bag. The pictures I posted here were taken myself... I don't know whether I could still ask for refund from the seller or not? I was the only bidder on this item. I guess others already knew this wasn't a real one so they didn't bid on it...
Anyway, thank you so much H!

You have NO obligation to get stuck with a fake! Contact the seller, explain that the bag is a confirmed counterfeit and you want a full refund including shipping. It's both against Ebay rules and against the law in most countries where Ebay does business to sell counterfeit merchandise. If the seller ignores your email or refuses to refund, file a Significantly Not As Described claim through Ebay or Paypal immediately. You only have 45 days from the date the auction ended to file a claim so don't wait too long.

BTW, was this an off-Ebay transaction? I'm wondering why the seller relisted and then withdrew the listing?

Sorry, didn't post the hardware & inside of the thrift store bag, so here it is. My camera isn't the best, so I hope they're ok. My daughter found this bag at a local thrift store the other day. Looks real to me, but I'm not sure and if anyone knows the pattern/style, it would be appreciated too. Inside little tag says "made in china", the zipper is a YKK, no creed tag, lining is thick & smooth, outside sateen is thick & smooth. Stitching looks even & nice. Hardware is heavy, no chips, peeling, etc. Thanks.

Someone who's familiar with newer styles will have to look at this one. It's even possible that it's a style made for some SE Asia markets so if anyone from that region has seen it before, please let us know.

Here's the original photos:

Hi H, it was not an off-Ebay transaction. I did not notice that the seller relisted it and withdrew the listing... I will contact the seller as soon as possible and will then contact eBay if the s/he doesn't respond... BTW: can I send him or her the link to this post as an evidence that this bag is a fake one? Thank you. :smile1:

Yes, I see what you're saying. It looks like the bag was originally dark brown and was re-dyed, and not very well.

I'd like more opinions, but judging from the other bags in that style on Ebay, the bag has been seriously altered from its original condition and that wasn't disclosed in the listing. The seller's description states that the "bag is clean inside and out" but if it looks and feels like leather dye or shoe polish it's obviously NOT. Contact the seller and tell her that a re-dyed or shoe-polished bag is NOT "clean inside and out" and that you want a full refund.

This is how a black one should look:
http://cgi.ebay.com/COACH-9311-blac...332?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item43a8684824
Note that yours doesn't have the off-white contrast stitching the bag is supposed to have either.

And here are the other ones for sale:
http://desc.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_n...ct=&LH_SALE_CURRENCY=0&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=50

DON'T accept any offers of a partial refund, redyed bags can leave dye residue on your clothing and even run when the color gets wet.

That is exactly what I was thinking myself. I asked her about the word AUTHENTIC and she refused to use it. She added my daugher is an attorney. I will contact her right now. Thanks for confiming my concerns. Pat

They put that in the auction for my red Baxter, too (same seller) and I was a little dubious since I don't think Coach does that kind of thing.

Despite that bit of copy that needs to be removed (they reuse a lot of copy in their auctions), they are good and trustworthy sellers and their bags are amazing. If you want that Madison you should go for it, I'm sure it's dreamy.

I'm still worried about that seller regardless of Jane's experience. We had questions before about at least one other item:
http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-577470-810.html#post18138902

Jane, you had a good experience but since the seller inflates values on some of their "included" items and apparently has listed at least one fake in the past and has one listed right now, I'd have to urge caution when dealing with them, sorry.

In fact the briefcase in this listing is probably the same fake that was mentioned in my February post - anyone with ANY basic Coach knowledge should know that -4154 is a style code for a Soho Bucket and would never be used in a briefcase since travel and business items had a very limited and specific set of style numbers. AND the number is on the Fakes List:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-COACH-B...?pt=US_CSA_MWA_Briefcases&hash=item2a126b05e6
Just one look at the creed stamping should have been a red flag, and it looks like the word "srtches" is misspelled. That "bit of copy" Jane mentioned isn't the only thing that needs removing.

So I can't recommend seller " energyambit ", sorry.

Thank you so much for your help Hyacinth..I really appreciate it:smile1:

I had a bag authenticated here the other day and then made an offer on it. The seller then told me they went to the consigner of the bag and my offer was accepted and they would change the price on the bin and that I should act fast.
I check the auction and the price is the same. The seller sends another message telling me oops we made a mistake the bag is dark navy not black and that they relisted another Willis from a previous sale. They said the condition was the same but this consignor would not budge on the price! They didn't change any of the wording in the listing except the color and in the title they put Mint instead of Like Nu. So am I supposed to believe they had two bags from 2 different consignors that were used as theatrical props and never street carried?
I just wanted to give a heads up because I feel like the seller wasn't honest with me! So I am just going to keep looking. Has anyone else dealt with this seller and had a problem?

1st one 4925 is the Sonoma "Mini Backpack" from 1996.

2nd one 4911 is the Sonoma "Small Backpack" from 1994.

Both look fine. Make sure to check the measurements of both of them...they're both rather small...(depending on what you need to carry with you)...especially the first one.

I'm familiar with that seller and find it hard to believe they'd play those kind of games. I've purchased quite a few things from them and never had a problem.

You also have to understand that many large sellers employ assistants to help with the daily details, and sometimes questions from buyers can get lost or go to someone not familiar with the situation.

They apparently made a mistake on the color and revised the listing to change it from black to dark navy but beyond that I can't say. If the consignor refused to accept your offer there's not much they can do.

I understand if the consignor didn't accept my offer and that's fine!
But the whole thing just seemed strange. It's ok I'm moving on from this one.
