Hi H and BB,

A few days ago, you authenticated this one for me with an open question about the color of one of the hearts. It was flipped over in the photo in the original listing, so I'm attaching photos of what I received.

The heart in question is indeed orange!!

Hi there! Long time lurker and first I'd like to thank you all for the loads of info I've learned.

I'm hoping someone can tell me if this is authentic and from what line? I can't seem to find any info. My daughter found it at a local thrift store the other day. If it's a fake, we're not out much, but it looks authentic to me.

Comments: the above pictures show the leather label inside as brown, the bag is black. The corners have some wear to it and it is brown and the bag has a plastic like coating. Like it was redone with shoe polish. Never saw a black bag with a brown lable nor a brown zipper. Is this normal?

Yes, I see what you're saying. It looks like the bag was originally dark brown and was re-dyed, and not very well.

I'd like more opinions, but judging from the other bags in that style on Ebay, the bag has been seriously altered from its original condition and that wasn't disclosed in the listing. The seller's description states that the "bag is clean inside and out" but if it looks and feels like leather dye or shoe polish it's obviously NOT. Contact the seller and tell her that a re-dyed or shoe-polished bag is NOT "clean inside and out" and that you want a full refund.

Note that yours doesn't have the off-white contrast stitching the bag is supposed to have either.

DON'T accept any offers of a partial refund, redyed bags can leave dye residue on your clothing and even run when the color gets wet.

Please include photos of the inside of the bag including the leather creed patch if it has one, and both sides of the metal clip at the end of the strap along with the attached hardware. Thanks!

well since i don't want my best friend to carry a fake and im honestly not sure i thought someone here may know. she got this at goodwill said it was in the glass case with other deesigner bags so what do you guys think is this real

It's fake. C's are not centered and lining is notorious in fakes, and that's just the beginning.

Yup, it's authentic. My comment was that the orange heart was flipped over (in the listing) so you weren't seeing the orange side. That turned out to be the case. You did fine.

Your friend got a fake and should return it and get a full refund.

I assume you mean this line: "We sent the bag to the company for rejuvenating and conditioning of the leather as we usually do. And they did a fabulous job!"

They put that in the auction for my red Baxter, too (same seller) and I was a little dubious since I don't think Coach does that kind of thing.

Despite that bit of copy that needs to be removed (they reuse a lot of copy in their auctions), they are good and trustworthy sellers and their bags are amazing. If you want that Madison you should go for it, I'm sure it's dreamy.

It made me a little nervous when I received it because it doesn't have the nice weight of some of the Coach key chains, but that can be a good thing too.
