Comments: Did a search and didn't find this seller or item. Thanks so much for your time! :smile1:
It looks fine.
I really really appreciate your help!! I was very nervous bc the numbers didn't quite match a couple Coach tags I'd seen. No. M0893-F13356.

Thank you!!!
You're welcome.

Item: COACH Musette Messenger Briefcase
Listing number: 170778401936
Seller: cinza
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-MUSET...6?pt=US_CSA_MWA_Backpacks&hash=item27c32f9c90
Comments: Never saw this bag before and I'm wondering something before the auction is over - The creed style number seems to be 573-8514, yet the advertisement lists the style number as 9625. Is this bag legit of fake and why are the two numbers so different?

Many kind thanks!

Please read Salearea's Guide on Coach serial numbers. That should answer your questions.
http://reviews.ebay.com/Coach-Serial-Numbers-the-Basic-Facts?ugid=10000000034886433
and

And it's genuine.

Thank you Hyacinth! You are such a wonderful and appreciated service here, my sincere thanks.

I read the above link and just so I understand what I'm reading, the bag's actual serial number is unique to that specific bag and the style number listed in the catalogue at that time does not appear in the actual bag at all. Is that correct?

I just purchased this vintage purse from Ebay, and I was wondering if it was authentic Coach. The font on the creed patch looks a little suspicious. Also the top part of the creed patch is stamped lighter than the serial number, as you can see in the 3rd link. I would appreciate any input.

Thanks for your help!

That's correct. Coach didn't start making their style number part of the serial number until 1994. Before that every all-number serial was unique. The Musette style had been discontinued by 1994 and you'll never find one that includes the style number in the serial.

All serial numbers in genuine bags from 1994 and after will include at least one letter of the alphabet and will also include the style number.

Are these the same photos that were in the auction listing? If those are available we need to see those too. I'd especially like to see a slightly closer photo of the front showing the turnlock and the area around it, and a side view showing the ends of the wooden dowel. And please post a link to the auction or the auction number.

And I'm wondering if the creed is unevenly stamped or just worn out more in some areas.

Thanks very much for sending them so quickly! :smile1:

The Willis looks ok to me, there aren't any red flags that I can see, and I think the creed stamp is just worn down a bit in places.

Whew, that's a relief. Thanks again! :smile1:
