I've been searching for one of these forever, but I've never seen one with 'made in China' imprinted into the back

Is it the real deal? TIA!

Ok so she sent a couple pics and one is of the creed. I guess with the 8313 it's not a Stewardess bag. Sorry it's sideways

Please wait for Hyacinth or DemRam for the style. The serial number is an older random number and doesn't indicate the style number.

It could be a Stewardess Bag but it would help to see more photos especially one of what's under the front flap. And yes, it came in Red. Like BB said, the style number on pre-1994 bags without any letters in the serial number will NEVER be included in the serial number so don't ever use the number to try and determine the style.

Yes, she really made a huge impact, and a lot of her designs are still eye-catchers today. Not only did she put Coach on the fashion map but she took the "form follows function" idea from architecture and made it a part of fashion too.

Thanks. I'll see if she sent me those pics. The turnlock is missing too, so that presents more of a challenge than I may be willing to undertake. Not sure if Coach would be willing to fix this one. I have seen replacement turnlock kits, but.....

If you know the SAs at your full-price store they may even be able to fix the turnlock right there - just be sure to say you bought it at a garage sale rather than on Ebay, or maybe that a relative gave it to you. Just never mention the "E" word.

There was a recent post over at the main Coach board about replacing a turnlock, the hardest part is probably that the lock is all the way at the bottom of the bag and that can make it a bit tricky. Here's the post:
