Item: Coach Madison Leather Handbag
Listing number: 270793474824
Seller: mariamonte20

Comments: Could you please check this out? The price seems low, even with two days left. More specifically, when I looked at the bids, bidder 3***g shows 100% bid activity with this seller, 20 total bids and 8 items bid on. Is this an example of shill bidding?

Here is a link to the bid history: http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI....Name=PageBidderProfileViewBids_Buyer_ViewLink

Hmm. There are now TWO reasons why I don't recommend mariamonte20.

1. The seller is a picture thief. The gallery picture in her listing is stolen from this seller's listing:

2. The seller is a cheater who inflates the selling prices of her items by shilling. This is the shill bidder:

Her other listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Coach-Large-Pop...350?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item3f0c8c989e

Is stolen from this seller:

Do not buy from mariamonte20. Who knows what you'll get?

Is this something I should report?

Yes, you can certainly report mariamonte20's shill bidding. Using the Report item link:

Click "listing practices"
"fraudulent listing activities"
"Seller is using other accounts to inflate item price"

For the picture theft, only the owners of the pictures can report that and those sellers have been informed that their work was stolen. ;)

Can anyone authenticate this bag? I was corresponding with someone via Craigslist and she provided the following two pictures. The creed says No F063-10350. I'd like to see if I can find the actual dimensions of the bag. If it is authentic, do you know the name? Thank you!

That exact bag is probably not from the Bonnie Cashin era. It could have been made any time from the mid-1970s to about 1988, and Bonnie Cashin left Coach in 1974. I don't think that Coach started using stamped creeds and serial numbers until several years after she left.

The original version may have been designed by her - the style was called a Courier Pouch and is one of the oldest styles in Coach's catalog - but I doubt if that particular bag would be considered a Cashin bag by the Bonnie Cashin Foundation. It IS a genuine Coach but was probably made at least several years after the "Cashin Era" ended.

DemRam is our Cashin expert and may be able to give you more information.

Hyacinth:

Thank you for teaching me something today. I am not familiar with Bonnie Cashin so I did a Google search and took a look at her Foundation. OMGosh what a stylish and talented woman. Her name should be as well known and respected as Coco Chanel and just as revered in my humble opinion.

I've perused her clothing designs shown on her website and others -- her influence is still being imitated today. And, she designed costumes for over 60 movies in Hollywood! Wow -- I love it when I learn something. :D

Please wait for other opinions because I'm a bit confused. I don't have this bag to compare and can't find any other pictures of the same style.

Although the minimal pictures look okay at first glance, I'm confused by the lining.

The picture of the creed shows it as being stitched to cream colored fabric lining yet the other picture shows legacy striped lining.

IMO, more pictures and closer pics are needed.

Please wait for other opinions on this one.

Legacy Suede Shoulder Bag from 2006. You might want to ask for a few more pics to check for wear around the bottom corners or any pen marks or stains on the inside. And as BeenBurned said, that bag is supposed to have a striped Legacy lining, the discrepancy is a big problem. You can see the striped lining in the picture of the front of the bag but not in the creed photo, and as far as I remember, that bag should have a Legacy lining.

But I don't own one either so we really need more information from anyone here familiar with that style.
