The serial number is 307-2935, which is a little hard to see in the picture.

Sorry, thought I managed to post the pictures but I guess not. I will try again.

Measurements always help when the bag's serial number doesn't include the style number. If this one is about 9x5 inches it's probably a Dinky Bag from sometime between the late 1970s through about 1988.

It looks okay (but the use of the celebrity photo is unnecessary.)

Thanks! I totally agree. I was just a little worried because it doesn't look like they have sold any Coach before and I recently bought an item where the seller put authentic photos in the listing then sent me a fake, so I'm a little leary now. If I purchase it I will take pictures of the bag I receive and post them hear again to make double sure. Thanks so much for your help! I appreciate it! :D

Yes! That's about the size. Thank you.

It could be a Stewardess Bag but it would help to see more photos especially one of what's under the front flap. And yes, it came in Red. Like BB said, the style number on pre-1994 bags without any letters in the serial number will NEVER be included in the serial number so don't ever use the number to try and determine the style.

Ok she sent more pics. Looks like it never had the turnlock at all and I'm wondering if that X is a final sale X? At any rate, thanks for looking.

That's the way the leather should look when that part of the turnlock is missing.

There are small "slits" in the leather at the top and the bottom of that "oval" indentation. That is where the "turning" portion of the lock is inserted and attached.

Why anybody would put an X on that part of the bag is a mystery to me, but the seller definitely SHOULD have mentioned it.

Yeah she mentioned it to me in email correspondence, it's not in the auction text and although it says it's missing the turnlock in the text it certainly isn't illustrated in any way.

So is it reasonable to assume that the turnlock can be repaired/replaced on this bag without too much effort? Wondering if that X will keep me from getting anything done at Coach (If I get it) Dem & H are you pretty sure that this is indeed a Stewardess?

Thanks again as always for your help. I'm such a sucker for that damn red leather!

Her pictures leave a lot to be desired, but what I see so far looks good.

As far as the turnlock...I've replaced them myself. It's very, very simple to do. I'm not sure if Coach will send you one free anymore, but they did a few years ago.

Here is a link to replacements in case you don't want to deal with Coach OR you can't wait for them to send you one.

The thing that would bother me the most is that stupid "X" that would show every time you open the bag! I wonder if anything else is undisclosed about the bag?

Wait for other opinions.

:smile1:

I wonder if the X is something that's done at stores like Nordies Last Chance to indicate that it's damaged and not eligible for warranty service. If it came from that type of store, the price the buyer would have paid would have been dirt cheap.

But I also agree that seeing the X would bug me. IMO, that seller's "as described" details need work.
