I'm not sure that the pictures of the bags are her own, but some might be okay. I don't recommend buying from a seller who (at best) mixes authentic and fake. And not a single keychain is authentic!

thanks for that! I'm really sorry about the huge photos! I just realised Image Shack now only lets you upload one photo at a time, so I downloaded their bulk photo uploader, was my first time using it, didn't realise you had to change the size for each photo! now I realised they had a button next to the resizer which lets you do it for all the photos :blushing:

Nothing can be authenticated without clear close-up photos of the creed.

In the future please use the format in Post 1 of this thread when asking for authentication.

1- only 1 pic and Beekmans are a highly-faked style, no way to authenticate - SORRY, just saw the added photo. Looks ok
2- possibly ok but the creed photo is unreadable
3- looks ok
4- Metropolitan Brief, probably ok but a better creed photo would help
5- we need a legible photo of the creed, there are at least three details that I'm suspicious of. Don't bid.
6- Seller says Made in Italy but the creed says US - the serial number the seller gives in the listing doesn't match the one in the photos. Possibly stole the photos from another seller? Don't bid. The bag in the photos also doesn't match the year code listed by the seller AND the seller's lying through her teeth about the original selling price - the Metropolitan in the mid-90s was UNDER $400. AVOID THIS SELLER.

Sorry, #6 should be Beekman, not Metropolitan. The other objections still hold except that the seller's claimed list price was only inflated by about $250 :nono:

Thanks for being so helpful Hyacinth! For #1 above with the serial #pic, any idea how old the bag is or a ballpark of the orig. price? I've only seen 1 style of Beekman but they all seem to have different serial #'s.

I concur that seller nutcracker2001 is one to avoid.

You want to check the condition and "shape" of these bags. The Beekmans can get warped on the flap if they are oput in a drenching rain. Also check the outside rear pocket to make sure that it has not come loose from the seam. Check the dowel to make sure it is not broken or warped. Watch for coffee stains and white out on the bags. And of course ask about smoke free homes.

If you are ok with bags that are mishapen, they appear to be fine, esp if they are just for you.
