I am so the pictures turned out enormous! :oh:

Genuine, from some time between 1988 and the very early 1990s.
 
The measurements and details match the Convertible Clutch closely enough, and I agree with DemRam. Interesting find, and good luck with the rehab!

.. pocket size seems large... .. creed... no numbers... no stitching on top edge of pocket which only the oldest bags dont have

VERY fake. A bag with that creed should always have a serial number, And did you notice the spelling of the word "scrtches"?

The style number was 9635. It was probably available several times in the 1980s but 1985 is the only year I'm sure of since that's one of the few color charts I have, but it does show Burgundy as a color choice.
