I thought it was a guess or other auction, but he says he bought it himself in Palo Alto.. and so did another lady...
It could be a different model and look different standing stuffed?
.. I should get the creed info..

Measurements would help too since the Musette Bag is almost identical except for size. The Carrier is about 1 1/2 inches wider and has a longer strap.

The Carrier Brief sold for $256 in late 1987, $310 in late 1989, $326 in late 1990, and $358 in late 1991. The price went up a whole 2 dollars in 1992.

And after 20 years, I doubt if 1 person in 20 could remember when they bought something or what they paid for it.

No, that style has to be either a Carrier or a Musette, and if the inside pocket zips it's probably the Carrier. The Musette prices were a bit lower too.

The creed info probably won't tell us much although we always want to actually see the stamp. Both bags were made during almost the same time period and except for early Musettes they'll have similar creeds.

Hello ladies! I just bid and won this purse on ebay but wanted to check if its authentic. I've been having doubts after comparing this purse to ones like it.

Item: Coach Vintage Wristlet
Listing number:330634863209
Seller: maneinvestment
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/330634863209?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

Thanks!!

What exactly are you comparing it to? The only valid comparisons are between bags of the same style made at the same plant during the same time period.

What do you think is wrong with it?

Why I had a question was that the bag was made in the USA according to the creed inside and that made me wonder because I know that bags have been made outside the USA for quite some time and it just made me curious - also at least according to the computer and the pictures it is a quite bright navy and that also makes me wonder - I do have a few bags that were made years ago and it was almost a royal blue, but these weren't the classic style it was the mini round bucket bag and the first small ergo. Just wanted to get an informed opinion. The seller also stated that she replaced the hang tag on the bag and the two shades of blue differ greatly. Thanks for the information.

If you want to know if the bag's genuine, just post a link to the auction using the format in Post #1 of this thread. Speculating about ifs, ands and maybes aren't going to produce a valid answer.

There was another on ebay with the same look, colour, dimensions, design etc but the creed number was different. Neither were one of those vintage bags with different numbers so I was just wondering. Thanks!

(I didnt post a "quick reply" because the server wouldnt let me for some reason.)

By "creed number," do you mean the whole serial number, or either the prefix or suffix part of it?

If the second 1/2, the style number is the same, it's the same item but just made at different times and/or different factories. If they aren't the same style number, there are bound to be differences when comparing apples to oranges.

Please post a link to the comps you looked at.
