Hyacinth, I just listed a few of my bags - I have over 50 Coach bags, was just listing the ones that had inside zippers I have been buying Coach bags since 1974 and I still have the first one that I purchased - of all the bags I have, I have only seen the nylon/plastic zippers in bags that were made of lightweight leather - that is why I was confused.

I also own 3 basic bags, f4 convertible clutches, several Bonnie Cashin bags, some of the originals, like the large bucket bag, and then both the Maggie and the tiny one in blue, 4 of the buckled saddle bag bags and 2 of the ones with the rounded bottoms, I also have 2 of the ones that had the little round snap things and the small round balls that fit into the holes which were made in 1992. I have 3 of the little belt bags, 2 of the small bags that had an open pocket and a zipper that were worn cross body. I also have two of the small bags that had an inside pocket and a button tab. I have a court bag, and a station bag. I have a rambler, and a prairie bag. I have one of the large clutches, two of the smaller ones and two that have the zipper on the side of the bag as well as the top. I also have two of the clutches that just have a fold over flap that have a built in change purse. I have two of the smaller bags with the flap with the turn lock and the built in change purse, I have two of the abbies, two Quincy bags, one of the lighter weight leather that has the strap that goes around with a buckle and there are others that I cannot remember right now. I think that I have a fairly good selection of Coach bags and because of what I have read here about fakes I was curious - all of the bags I have listed were either purchased at a Coach store or a department store.

I'm not going to question what you have, it's the year the bag was made that's important - the older a bag is, the more likely it is to have brass zippers. And the newer it is, the more likely it is that the inside pocket at least will have a nylon zipper, especially if it was made after 2000. There are still plenty of "classic" leather bags that had nylon zippers. All newer Coaches use nylon so that the zipper matches the fabric color.

And if what you've read about fakes says that all Coaches should have brass zippers, that's completely wrong. The material OR brand of a zipper should never be used as an authentication aid unless you're comparing bags made in the same plant, month and year.

All are ok

I have a photo of the bag in the auction from the catalog ... It says the item cost 256

However..
I have seen several auctions on a bag that looks just like the Carrier in the catalog photo- where people said they paid 450-475 for it..
I am wondering.. why is the information so different?
