I just noticed some of these have sellers in common - if any of these sellers are *Trusted Sellers*, I would love to know this. Since I know NOTHING about Vintage items, I'm concerned about hijacking the thread with my requests! LOL

You're probably right, unfortunately. It looks like a Rambler's Legacy which would be 9061. And the "No" before the actual serial number is much too thick compared to the rest of the serial. I hope you don't own it? If it's an active listing, can you post a URL?

There's always a tiny chance that someone at the plant just messed up when stamping the style number, but that "No" just doesn't look right either.

Thank you for your help.

The hardware is stamped "solid brass" but is silver in color. That doesn't look right to me.

More pics. I can't get a good image of the zipper pull. It is stamped YKK.

The Hudson 5310 is fine. It will not clean up well though.

The Thompson is fine but the crease on the flap would really bother me.

The Metropolitan is fine.

The last seller dyes/shoepolishes her bags and has been know to sell a fake here and there.

Again, the first seller dyes or shoepolishes her bags. She also overstuffs her bags so they look huge and out of shape.

There are some important things to think about when buying briefcases.
1) Is the user carrying legal sized documents?
2) Will a computer fit into the bag? You need the measurements of the computer
3) Is the user using it by the handle or the shoulder strap? Ask about the condition of the strap and the handle.
4) Color - I see alot of Br Tan, Tobacco and Doe briefcases with coffee, tea and soda stains.
5) The Lexington, Morgan, Metropolitan, Colebrooke and Logan Briefs are not that big.
6) Ask about cigarette odors.
7) Whiteout stains.
8) What kind of inside and outside pockets do you need?
9) What kind of clothing are you wearing? Briefcases carried by the shoulder will rub against the body. Some get scratched or scraped by buttons and the like.
10) The weight
11) You want something with substantial straps.
12) Does she want a briefcase or a tote? Leather or canvas or nylon?

1. The star charm appears to be okay.

2. The snaphead keychain from newjerseydevils is fake. Among other things wrong, the charms aren't the correct colors.
