Comments:There are a few of these on ebay, but since I am new to the brand, and these are not on the Coach or Macy's or Lord and Taylor sites I assume it is an older season... or fake.

Both look okay but there's no reason why seller #1 (aziza1240) should use Coach's copyrighted stock photo for her gallery picture. She owns a camera, takes other pictures of this bag as well as her other items and shouldn't be infringing on Coach's pics.

Since the C's don't line up I would assume this is a fake?

It's an Optic pattern and Optics along with a few other patterns DON'T follow those "Rules" everyone always quotes. There are a lot of exceptions including a ton of new Tartan items available at the outlets. Please don't ever use those Rules (especially if you found them at Ebay or some other site on the internet) to tell you if something's real or fake. Almost every single internet "Rule" is either wrong, outdated, or has exceptions. DON'T use them.
Hyacinth already explained why the C pattern doesn't align on an Optic signature bag so I won't go into that.

My comment refers to the seller's picture. Personally, I wouldn't recommend buying from callifestyle because the seller sometimes "borrows" pictures from other sources.

For example, the picture of the Carly bag in the listing you've asked about was stolen from this seller:
http://www.ampmfashion.com/co15blopsish.html

This listing has pictures that were stolen from another source:

Someone more familiar with the bag than I needs to look at it. But I'm wondering if anyone can verify that the genuine bag has a creed that says it's "made of the finest MATERIALS AND LEATHER."

Is Coach getting THAT sloppy and careless?

I have several newer Coach bags from 2009-2010 (purchased from the outlet, Macy's or the FP store) that mention "finest materials and leather" on the creed. I've been meaning to ask about this, especially if bags of the same style made in different plants have different wording in that sentence.

For example, I have a black leather Audrey. The date code seems to indicate it was made in 2010 (C1071-14316) and the creed mentions that it's made of the "finest full-grain cowhide leather." Other leather Audreys made prior to mine - but in other colors of leather, such as periwinkle - show "finest materials and leather" stamped on their creeds. I've been wondering why the difference?

I don't have the Dylan shoulder bag in the linked auction, but I do have the Dylan totes. I just checked them and and both mention "finest materials and leather" on their creeds.

Hi Ladies,

I am new(ish) to the forum. This is my first post but I have lurked around here for a while. At any rate, my mother was at the factory this weekend and she saw a bag behind the counter that the SA described as being "a boutique bag and a very limited edition bag that was only available at two boutique's in Georgia, Lenox Square and The Mall of Georgia" (both mall's are a considerable distance from the particular factory that my mother was at.) My mother said she had never seen one like it before and when I asked her about it she described it as a "variant blue leather bag with wavy diagonal-type stripes." She said that the SA never offered to let her see the bag or anything so she assumed that she was holding it for someone; however, I have my assumptions.

Mom said the bag had the same basic shape as my Sophia so I started to look on the internet for "coach, blue leather, stripe." Well, I came up with a lot of Heritage line and Signature stripe - none of which was correct. And then, I came across the bag in the picture. I showed it to her and she nearly jumped out of her skin. She said this was the bag that she had seen at the outlet. I had to break the news to her that this particular bag was fake. I have only purchased one bag from the outlet so I have a few questions. The first question is how easy is it for fake bags to be sold at the outlet? Does it happen often? Last, is there a real version of this bag? Personally, I find it atrocious. My mom seems to like it.

Any help would be great. Also, if this is the wrong place for this, I apologize.

There IS a genuine style that looks similar at first glance to the photo of the fake you found but there are some obvious differences including the straps, the quality of the workmanship, the details of the Carriage plaque, etc. The style number of the genuine tote is 12956 (and yes, fakes CAN have correct style numbers) but I don't know the name.

Here's the actual bag and a different style from the same family showing the blue color combination - and BTW, many Factory Store bags are faked, especially recently. They seem to be coming from China mainly through the Philippines and all need to be authenticated:
In answer to your question about fakes at the outlet, although I won't say it's impossible, generally, it isn't likely that they'd accept a return of a fake and not catch it.

Although there are "good" fakes, the chances of such a good fake that it would pass muster as a return probably wouldn't happen.

I suspect that someone returned an authentic bag and one of the employees at the outlet wanted to purchase it, thus they put it aside.

Comments: Please authenticate. TIA!

It's fake.

Although hard to read, the serial number on cherryb_2008's bag is NT-4903, the #1 fake serial number!!

She also has a current listing for a fake LV bag.
LOL! While searching for another bag, I searched "Coach blue stripe" and accidently found where cherryb_2008 bought her fake bag!!

She purchased it here:

Methinks that if cherryb_2008 is going to be buying for resale, she'd better learn to identify authentic bags!

Thanks, Happybag!

So there's another "rule" that Coach apparently has decided to ignore. Not only should the same style bag have the same wording even if it came from different plants, but the creed should be accurate about the materials in the bag. You have to wonder what kind of lazy-arse bozos are running their plants now, and if there's still such a thing as Quality Control. And why no one in upper management seems to give a damn.

I am guessing this is a fake because it has # 9927 and does not look like a Willis bag.

Thanks.

You're probably right, unfortunately. It looks like a Rambler's Legacy which would be 9061. And the "No" before the actual serial number is much too thick compared to the rest of the serial. I hope you don't own it? If it's an active listing, can you post a URL?

There's always a tiny chance that someone at the plant just messed up when stamping the style number, but that "No" just doesn't look right either.

VERY bad fake. Coach never made a style like that or a fabric like that, and would never use that kind of lining in a C pattern bag. The leather doesn't look real either. A real bag would also have a serial number, and a C-pattern bag would never have been made in the US.

If this is yours, can you get your money back?

It wasn't that much it was 24 bucks but I like it lol but got a good one today and it's real Dillards baby lol. Question how come Coach is now made in China I would think paying that much for a bag it would be made somewhere good.

I apologize in advance for the length and number of auth requests, but I am *totally* clueless about vintage leather. Any hints you could send my way would not only be very appreciated, but will reduce the number of auth requests I have to post.

My daughter is receiving her Master's Degree and would die for a Vintage Coach briefcase (*Proud Mom* She's now a paralegal!)
