Hello ladies, I am wondering about this Coach Scribble purse listed locally.... last night the listing said authentic, now today it doesn't - so that is the first red flag.
The creed looks off too, but overall the pictures aren't great, so not sure about that either. Also it says made in the USA, and I thought all Coach is made in China now?
I checked the code and it wasn't on the "not authentic" list (DEJ-9818)

Item: Coach Scribble ?
Link: HERE

Thanks!

It's definitely fake! The creed patch alone is enough to determine that.

DEJ is NOT a valid prefix. Plus the wording on the creed says "made of completely natural glove tanned cowhide". Obviously it's not made of cowhide!

The bag you bought was made in July, 2010 so it's certainly not an old bag.

I don't see a problem with the stitching. There'll always be some backtacking (over-stitching) at the end of a seam in order to secure the stitching and prevent unraveling. That's what you're seeing on the zipper pull and top piping trim.

The slightly uneven stitch length (pic 2) appears to be a result of the difficulty of working with and sewing patent leather.

Remember that Coach, although a good quality bag isn't made by craftsmen (such as those who make Hermes) and the quality (and price) aren't Hermes level.

Regarding the paperwork, that is odd. The booklet appears to be something the seller might have had around and stuck into the bag. I think it's old.

Please do wait for other opinions but I believe you received an authentic bag.

I have to agree with Starry that there are some very suspicious and apparently "good" fakes being sold by Phillippino powersellers.

Please post the additional pictures that Starry asked for regarding the blue Leah because I didn't realize that it was from a seller with a history.

1st picture: this is a blue coach leah patent leather 13178.
2nd picture: i noticed the stitching on the seams are a bit uneven.
3rd picture: a little tear in the leather right at the corner of the in-seams.
4th picture: the creed.
5th picture: zipper pull. again, uneven stitching.
6th picture: i suppose everything has a beginning and end, does this model have one here?
7th picture: the care card that came with the bag. for a brand like coach, i was a bit dissapointed with the care card that came with. printed on uneven paper.
8th picture: the last page of the care card. last line couldn't even be read.

The more I look at the creed, the more things I'm finding that bother me. I'm not sure if it's the lighting or shadows that's causing these discrepancies, so that's why I'd like to see a picture without shadows.

imeeh19 - In addition to the pictures requested above, can you also post a picture of the sides and bottom of the bag as well. Thanks.

ETA: The serial number is also puzzling, as it doesn't match up with the dates of release for this style. Although, there is a range of when the style was still being made, so it could be possible that it was still made in July 2010.

hello guys. as requested, the additional pics. help. i'm losing a bit of sleep here. *small smile* TIA.

You have good eyes, I couldn't read the cowhide part.
Thank you!!!
DemRam is correct. The bag is a bad fake and obviously the seller knows it.

As for the serial number being on the "fakes" list, although "9818" isn't on the list, there are some very similar numbers listed: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-sh...enticity-questions-94198-24.html#post11763206

Scroll about 1/2 way down the post and see Hyacinth's reference to "DEJ."

EDITED TO ADD: I looked again at that listing and the serial number in the listing and it IS the number on "the list." The "style number" portion is 9816. (I think you misread the 6 as 8.)

Thanks for the extra pictures. I am convinced now that the bag is fake. There is one detail in particular that is a dead giveaway. I'm sorry. Please get your money back asap.

PLEASE leave appropriate feedback for the cheating "powerseller," yayendij. At this point, feedback is the only way to let future buyers know that the seller is a scammer.

:( i have already left a positive feedback. can i retract that? because i didn't think the bag was fake at first. If the dogleash clip wasn't loose and the strap falling, i wouldn't have noticed anything wrong with the bag. :(

omg. what was the give-away? :(( i duno how to get my money back. ebay is asking for a Letter of Authenticity (if applicable). any ideas??

http://pages.ebay.ph/help/tp/esppp-process.html

I PMed you about the detail.

You told me that you haven't filed the claim yet. Since the seller was uncooperative when you contacted her for a refund, you'll have to file the claim through ebay.

Perhaps other members can offer more advice on how to proceed.

Even though you already left feedback, you should post a follow-up comment to your feedback saying that the bag has been determined to be fake, as a way of warning other buyers.

Hi, I purchased 4 older bags over the past few months (1 on ebay and 3 at thrift stores) and this is the first chance I've had to photograph them (and to work on rehab projects) and I would very much appreciate your opinions about authenticiy.

I'm afraid that I still take poor creed pictures (and I really am using the macro setting, I promise!) but I will try and take better photos if needed. Here's the first bag, an ebay purchase. TIA!

Comments: I believe that this is a genuine willis bag, the style number is No. G9C-9927.

There are some pics at the link above and I have attached some additional pics. I will post my "best" creed picture with the next message. Thank you!

Here's my next "mystery bag"

Item: Navy blue zip bag (Worth bag, maybe?)
Listing number: NA
Seller: Goodwill
Link: Not applicable

Comments: I think this bag looks genuine but my major concern is that the backs of the 2 buckles are stamped “solid brass” and I have never seen that on a coach bag before. The zipper pull is stamped “YKK” but I know that isn’t a guarantee.

The style number is C6M-4143 and the dimensions are: 7.5 tall by 11.0 wide by 4.5 deep. I will post some more pics with the next message. Thanks in advance!
