This was the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...U2XGdFQ%3D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWNX:IT

The logo on the bottom looks mostly centered to me. It seems to be a left shoe (based on shape and zipper detailing in the 'inside facing' part of the shoe), so the bottom is not completely symmetrical, but the logo is down the middle. Sorry, my camera seems to be taking progressively worse pictures. I just took a new set with no flash and better lighting:

If I can take pictures of different angles to help with authentication, please let me know. Also feel free to PM me if you don't want to discuss it on the thread.

Thanks!

The pictures help and the logo looks centered, which is a big point in its favor. I still can't say for sure if it's real though. The style of jump ring attaching it to the keyring isn't the kind Coach uses but it could have been replaced. All the attachment rings I've seen are thicker and a single layer that's sometimes soldered closed. That overlapping style isn't original.

It may be genuine but I can't say for sure since I can't find any photos of it. Hopefully if someone else has a photo, they'll post it here.

Someone is selling this purse locally and I'm really interested in buying it. However, after looking online and typing in the serial number L05M-126, I have found other people using that same serial number. Not sure if this is the fake or not.

I wouldn't recommend buying from r3r-2007. Not only did the seller sell 2 fakes (on November 10) in that 7-piece lot but she also sold the same two fakes on October 20:

LOL! Nothing to be scared of! There's a wealth of information available on the internet and by googling. But this one was easy. She left feedback for the buyer (who never paid for it) on November 18.

Aha! Didn't think to look at the Feedback Left for Others tab. But strangely, she left Positive feedback for a non-paying buyer! What do you s'pose that's about?

Hi,

Thanks for this great forum.

I bought this strange bag at a thrift shop. I love it but I wonder if it really is Coach.

It has no internal label or creed. No lining, no zipper, no pockets, no buckle, snap or other way to close it.

It does have a tiny black and white metal label on the outside that says Coach. The label is kind of like a staple through the leather.

The leather looks and feels like coach.

Any help would be much appreciated.

If it's real, it's older than the styles I'm familiar with. Maybe some of our Vintage experts can take a look.

It just seems strange that Coach would put a metal tag like that right through the main body of the leather though, and especially in a place where it could catch on clothing or be torn off and damage the leather. Can you get a photo of the inside of the bag where that metal tag is inserted through the leather?

Some time ago, ebay changed the feedback policy so sellers can only leave positive feedback for buyers. Most sellers don't leave feedback for non-positive transactions but some sellers leave negative comments. That is disallowed and if the buyer were to report it, the comment would be removed and the seller would be warned about leaving contradictory feedback.

I have fallen in love with this bag, mainly because of the lining....
But somehow I have the feeling it isn't authentic at all. Please advise.

Item: *Stunning Black Leather *COACH* Legacy XL Saddle Bag*
Listing number:260694967222
Seller: The Highland Emporium
Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&_trksid=m570&_nkw=260694967222&_fvi=1&_rdc=1

Thanks a lot!

There's nothing wrong with the lining. The Legacy Stripe lining has been used on some selected bags for the last 3 years.

Here's another one for sale, compare the linings:

More opinions would help but the bag looks genuine.

Hi guys, I have just bought my first coach bag on ebay. This is my first time buying a coach bag. Can you please have a look if it's authentic. Here's the link:

Thank you!
It looks fine.

In the future, please post in the format requested in the first post of the thread. It's helpful in future searches for seller IDs and items.

Coach used that black metal plaque in the 1970's and it's one of their older "marks".

The bag looks similar to one I've seen before but I no longer have the pictures. It "could" be a Bonnie Cashin for Coach design.

It also confuses me about the placement of that plaque. I've never seen it on the outside of any of the older bags. Unless it fell off and someone re-attached it in the wrong place.
