Thanks, I just can't resist a glitzy little evening bag! Except my lifestyle doesn't really require an extensive wardrobe of formal wear. We got to 2 or 3 weddings/big parties a yearon average. I should stay off of ebay after drinking a glass of wine because my resistance ebbs very low!

Or shop a site like LL Bean where returning something bought on impulse is less of a hassle. :D

It looks ok. The strap was probably replaced somewhere along the way, and the most commonly sold non-Coach replacement strap doesn't come in an adjustable version.

The one thing that's hard to see in the photos because of the way light is hitting the texture of the creed area is the shape of the two 9s in the serial number. Do they look exactly alike when you look at the actual bag?

Comments: Oh dear, I did it again! I really should stop drinking wine! I am surprised to find that I am the high bidder and that I’ve won this auction. Before I pay could you please give me an opinion on the authenticity of this bag? Thanks for your help!
It's fine.

Dear Ladies, I would like to win the bid on this bag. The seller has posted very clear pictures, including the COACH ID patch inside. (scroll all the way to bottom of page) Because my first COACH purse will be purchased used, I'm going to need to be a little confidence boost. My guess, is this one is the real deal, and its the color I need for fall. There is one other, a much lighter leather and I will post that one soon.

Also, thank you for your reply Hyacinth, I did not ended up not even bidding on that last bag at all. Thank you so much.

It's very nice you ladies take the time to help us new fans of these enduring bag lines!

Item: Brown Leather XL Legacy Bag
COACH ID 9060
Found: On Ebay
Seller: sophistifashion
Ebay Item ID: 130451757096

Also, I had a general question about COACH bags. Some of the ID patches inside say different things. Enduring quality vs. characteristic of natural full grain leather. Does COACH only have 1 standard statement for their ID patches?

The wording of the creed even on the classic all-leather bags has changed several times over the years, and also changes depending on the materials used on the bag. Mistakes in the creed, like saying a bag is made of full-grain leather when most of the bag is fabric, are also good indicators of a counterfeit.

As to the seller you asked about, we don't recommend buying from her. A LOT of her customers including several tPF members had had serious issues with her bags, including stains and bad odors and even bags re-colored with shoe polish. She's also been known to sell fakes. You can read all her Negative and Neutral Feedback here at Toolhaus.org - always check there before buying from any seller. She's also been discussed here many times:

Just to be fair, the recent bag a buyer claimed was fake looks genuine to me but she couldn't even be bothered to post the right serial number. And if you read her comments about the buyers who left bad feedback you can also see how she deals with customers who have legitimate complaints. I wouldn't buy a newspaper from her, much less a purse. DON'T let this poor excuse for a seller ruin your first Coach buying experience!

Thank you for your speedy reply Hyacinth! After going back and looking at the photos of this bag, I noticed she has two different ID number tags.

One - K9P - 9060 is a photo of a tag all by itself, probably from a real COACH bag

The ID on the purse she is selling is G9P - 9060

To bad...

I think the seller goofed when posting her pictures. She has probably sold the same style bag in the past and one of the creed photos in the listing is from the wrong bag.
