Thank you for your speedy reply Hyacinth! After going back and looking at the photos of this bag, I noticed she has two different ID number tags.

One - K9P - 9060 is a photo of a tag all by itself, probably from a real COACH bag

The ID on the purse she is selling is G9P - 9060

To bad...

That's a common trick of less-than-trustworthy sellers. They'll post a photo of just the creed stamp and serial number (that's the bag you'll probably get) and also post photos of another bag in the same style that's in much better condition than the bag they're actually selling. Both bags may be genuine but the lovely clean almost-new bag that makes up most of the photos in the listing is NOT the bag you'll be getting.

Never depend only on the Feedback that Ebay makes available - use the Toolhaus.org site to get the whole selling history.

Item: Brown Leather XL Legacy Bag
COACH ID 9060
Found: On Ebay
Seller: sophistifashion
Ebay Item ID: 130451757096

Also, I had a general question about COACH bags. Some of the ID patches inside say different things. Enduring quality vs. characteristic of natural full grain leather. Does COACH only have 1 standard statement for their ID patches?

I think the seller goofed when posting her pictures. She has probably sold the same style bag in the past and one of the creed photos in the listing is from the wrong bag.

She does that a lot, doesn't she?

the bag being discussed:

the bag another buyer claimed was fake:

two different-colored bags in the same style, one with NO creed pic

and

again, different numbers and a blue shade that Coach never made for the Station Bag - the buyer says she received a black bag

Careless? Maybe. I'd be much more inclined to give someone the benefit of the doubt if the rest of their selling history showed that they made an effort to describe their items accurately and solve problems with unhappy buyers without calling them names.

I posted a tad earlier and got some info from a member. I listed the bag a few hours ago and am curious if it's okay if I post the link to my sale to see if it's all good/honest/safe? I don't want to look like I'm spamming the forum, but it's scary selling designer things online! Let me know if it's ok so I can get a stamp of approval. Thank you all!!

Absolutely NOT. That's considered advertising your auction and will get you permanetly banned from this site. Advertising is against the forums' rules.

You are not supposed to list unless you are 100% sure it is real.

DemRam, Thank you thank you for the info!! I read that If it was made in NYC it was pre-1976. I think it said something like, they stoped making them there in 1975. Do you know if this is false info?

You're welcome.

My understanding is that Coach's New York City factory was still operating well into the 1980's. When the NYC factory actually closed...I don't know.
