I think it looks fine. Style 9870 is the "Court Bag" and J5C means it's from 1995.
Alrighty... the seller has sent me some more pictures, and I'm still in love with this bag. Help?

Agaian - NOTHING can be authenticated just by the serial number. Or by its resemblance to another similar bag.
Do you still have the bag? And do you have a digital camera so that you can take photos and upload them to your computer, and from there to a hosting service like Photobucket?
Just curious - is the tPF member who emailed you a regular poster at this forum?
If she's not, just being a member here doesn't mean she's an expert.
Since Hyacinth asked, I'll make the comment/question that crossed my mind last night when I read your query and comment about having been contacted by a tPF member.
I consider myself a fairly decent detective and I tried to find that bag you purchased in July and wasn't successful. How did she find the listing and what was the item? Who is the seller from whom you purchased? I found an ebay buyer with your ID but didn't find any Coach purchases.
I question whether someone actually found a listing that you purchased.

Where did you get those pictures? Those pictures in your post above were taken from this ebay seller who sells authentic:

I wasn't able to view any pictures on the siambrandname.com forum link you provided. If those pictures are being used on the forum link, they were stolen from the ebay seller.
I know you can't tell me for sure until I can get photos of my bag. I just thought it was very strange that she (northern415) emailed me out of the blue when I can't even find the listing anymore. My Ebay ID is 6654becky and the person I purchased the bag from is libra5010.
I emailed northern415 back to ask for more info and how they found the listing, etc. but I did not receive a response. Here's the email from northern: "Just to inform you that the item "COACH RED SIGNATURE PLEATED TOTE WITH WRISTLET.. NWT!! (#320559674749)" you purchased for 138.00 in July from seller: libra5010 is a FAKE and ILLEGAL Coach bag! Coach NEVER made this exact style of bag. All of the Coach bags this seller has sold or has up for auction are FAKE! I am a member of TPF (The Purse Forum) and we are trying to stop these scammers on EBay. You should contact EBay and get your money refunded. There is a section in EBay's "HELP" that says how to go about getting your money back if the handbag you received was not authentic. Good luck!!"
