Our advice isn't "professional," but rather, we offer our educated opinions.

The wristlet looks fine but is there a link to the listing?

Ugh! Bre, why would your sister ruin a seller's feedback without knowing for sure that what she's alleging is accurate?

As Starry commented, Macy's SAs aren't trained to authenticate items and most of them haven't been there long enough to recognize styles from past seasons, much less from several years ago!

And it also amazes me to look at the feedback and see that it was revised yet it still accuses the seller of selling a fake.

If you knew enough to come here for authentication, why didn't you refer your sister?

Please have her take pictures of the bag she received and post them here so we can see the seams, hardware and creed.

Is she able to revise the feedback again in the event that she's proven to be wrong?

I'll add my own editorial comment: I wish buyers would do a bit of research to learn about the items they are buying so they'll know what to expect when they receive it. It amazes me to see all the POSITIVE feedback received by sellers of obvious fakes yet see this type of feedback left by someone who thinks the bag looks "cheap."

Unless and until your sister posts pictures and proves that she didn't receive a bag like that in the photos, she will probably find herself on many BBLs (blocked bidder lists) and will have trouble finding a reputable seller to do business with.

Bre, understand that I do wonder why the seller had two of the identical bags (supposedly received as gifts) but it's also possible that she got a deal at the outlet and bought 2 of them and didn't want to advertise it.

Thanks for all the help everyone. The feedback unfortunately was left by our mother who meant Coach, not Macy's. After seeing the bag and comparing it with photos it's become obvious the bag the Seller sent was not actually the bag in the photos. It was a basic bait and switch. She put up photos and sent something that very much resembles the auction pictures but has clear differences when you really put the bag up the the pictures. It's so disappointing. The bag has since been taken to 3 local Coach stores and it was the same story every time. The creed is wrong, the stitching is wrong, the material is wrong, there is an issue with the pattern of the C's on one side etc...

Aside from the fact this seller took 10 days to ship it out and it arrived with stains that were not disclosed in auction this bag is very much a fake.

For the record. My sister is 16 and she had no idea. I had no idea this is where she was buying her first bag. I jumped in when the bag arrived and I was told of the issues. I knew exactly where to come because I trust this board to advise on issues like this due the the vast experience the members here offer.

As of now the Seller will not respond with anything but "get a life" and "your not getting anything from me". She will not respond to claim and we will escalate on Friday which is our 7 day mark. We will also follow up on feedback when claim is through.

Hi. I am new to this website so I hope I am doing this right. I am trying to purchase a few COACH keyring/fobs and am hoping someone can authenticate this for me. I can't seem to find it anywhere else. Thanks for your help.
I fixed your link.

The keychain is fine.

Please be sure to ask about any keychain you're interested in. eBay is quickly becoming another iOffer when it comes to Coach keychains.

Item: Coach Cream and Brown Carly (style # unknown)
Listing number: 300449440468
Seller: im_his_princess
Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300449440468&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123
Comments: My Sister bought her first Coach on Ebay. When she received it she was shocked to find that it looked so cheap. She never buys on Ebay and thinks she may have made a huge mistake. Can you give some insight into the authenticity of this bag? We would really appreciate it.
The OP's sister was the one who left the negative. Macy's SAs are NOT trained or authorized to authenticate Coach. Many SAs are not familiar with older styles. Some SAs will even automatically say that an authentic bag is fake if they are told that it was bought on ebay.

This bag is a Signature Shoulder Tote (not a Carly). The style number 7473 is correct for this bag. It's from 2006. I don't see any problems with the bag in the pictures, however, I don't know if the bag pictured in the auction is the same bag your sister received since the seller also sold this bag in another auction using the same pictures:

The seller says that she received two of these as gifts.

Please ask your sister to post pictures of HER bag here so we can take a look.

Bre, both Starry and I suggested you post pictures and let those who know the bag offer opinions and in the 3 days that have passed, you haven't posted pictures.

Without pictures of the bag you received, there is NO WAY to know whether the seller did a bait and switch or whether you just received a different authentic bag from that in the pictures.

As the seller stated, she (supposedly) received 2 of the same bag. Perhaps she took pictures of the other one and sent the one that she didn't photograph.

Again, without pictures, there's no way to know whether your mother or sister was given misinformation by employees at Coach. If they mentioned ebay, chances are they may have been told it was fake. Coach employees hate ebay and are known to tell buyers that authentic bags are fake even when they know it is untrue.

Again, please post pictures of the bag you received.

ETA: Also for the record, ebay members have to to be 18 years old. They attest to that fact when they open their account. Your sister wasn't honest.

Hi All,

I found this gem at a local thrift store. I am pretty sure it's authentic - any ideas as to the name of this cute bag? Any and all information is greatly appreciated! The shoulder strap was shortened - any idea how long it was originally? Thank You

I would love to post pictures but I personally do not have the ability to post them.

I think they have made a good choice in entrusting the 3 Coach stores they went to. They did their due diligence by not taking it to 1 but 3 stores.

You assume my sister signed up for this account and bought the bag. It was her bag but no where did I state she was the account holder. In fact I did state my Mother left the feedback which would be an indicator she is the account holder.

Bottom line is this Seller did not deliver. It is 100% dishonest not to state "This is not a picture of the actual bag". It is her responsibility to ensure the description is accurate and seriously what are the chances she was just cutting a corner and that both bags were in the exact same used condition? It's ridiculous and I doubt it. I think it's more likely she didn't post pictures of the actual bag because she was being dishonest.

Thank you very much, ladies!

They both seem to be ok.

Just to bring up something that we often talk about - this bag is one of the proofs that those so-called "authenticity Guides" on the Internet are almost all useless and untrustworthy. They always yammer on about "all genuine Coaches will always have YKK zippers". Well, the first bag, the Signature Zoe, is one genuine bag that usually doesn't have YKK zippers. If memory serves, the main zipper is usually made by RISI although it takes a bit of twisting and turning to see the name stamped on the underside of the zipper mechanism.

BTW, welcome to thePurseForum!
