Quite a few styles in the late 90s used that kind of buckle, and I think all of them were stamped. That one's genuine.
good to know that one was good at least!

Phew! I was waiting for other responses and opinions on handbag_babe. This seller also sells under the ID of pianomusikmom, another ID that has sold fakes.
In this post, Hyacinth questioned some details on one of pianomusikmom's listings: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-577470-678.html#post17607582
And here it was mentioned about the seller's past history: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-535153-208.html#post14293531
I wouldn't touch handbag_babe or pianomusikmom listings with a ten-foot pole.
You're welcome.thanks for the detective workI knew I would get answers here before I jumped the gun and bought something!
Ugh! That's not Coach but it's not really fake either, as it's not copying Coach's signature pattern. I guess it's supposed to be designer inspired, but I don't know who "inspired" it. (It almost looks more "chanel-y" than Coach.)This looks fake to me - am I right?

Comments: I also wanted to make sure on this one. I don't see a bullet on the creed so that means it did not come from the outlet right? It makes me wonder why they are selling a $358 bag for $125. Should I be suspicious or is it just a good deal?
Edit: Seller also appears to sell on Bonanza under eglobaltrader if that helps, too.
The Mia Convertible Hobos went to the outlets en masse a few months ago and were eventually redlined. Not all outlets put the bullet on the creeds anymore. Several of the bags I've bought from the outlet don't have bullets on the creed.
Not sure if it's the case with the Mia convertible or not, but I've sometimes seen things disappear from Coach.com and then pop back up. Maybe they received another shipment of the small bag, who knows.
Also, it's not unusual for a bag to be at the outlet and still for sale on Coach.com and not necessarily in the "going-going-gone" section either (there doesn't appear to be a "going-going-gone" page right now). The small Mia convertible currently on Coach.com also went to the outlet when the larger ones did, IIRC. Sometimes I wonder if this is because the international Coach sites still carry the item.
HTH!

The "Going Once, Going Twice" section was relocated-- it is now under the "Limited Editions" tab.
Hello!
I am absolutley new to forums and new to Coach. I just purchased a Vintage Taft British Tan bag on ebay last night but after reading your website I now have doubts....It reads "This is a coach bag. It was handcrafted in the United States of completley natural glove- tanned cowhide. The variations in the grain are characteristic of natural full- grain leather" Underneath it reads No. H5B-9980. Is this a fake? I already paid for it and I don't know what to do....Please please help me...otherwise I'm out 80 bucks w/ a fake bag and egg on my face.
PS I would post a link w/ the pics but I don't know how to
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best Regards,
Sera
