Been Burned - thank you very much for your response. I almost paid via PayPal this morning but decided to post here first. I just emailed the seller asking for a picture of the Creed. I'll post it when I get it. I'm not sure how to even get out of purchasing this item since I am the winning bidder. I wonder what the consequences are in terms of my good feedback score.

Anyway, I'm so curious as to how you figured out the shill bidding with user jrue413.

I really appreciate you taking the time to give your opinion on this! :smile1:
You're welcome.

We'll look at the creed when you receive it. If the bag turns out to be fake, you can tell the seller that you had it authenticated and you don't intend to pay for a fake.

As for your feedback, the seller can't leave negative feedback for a buyer but if you don't pay and the seller files for non-payment, you can get a "non-paying bidder" ding to your account.

Re shill bidding, I looked at the bidding history on several of the seller's items, saw a pattern of a certain bidder bidding only on this seller's items and I was able to ID the bidder (also from FL BTW) from the feedback left by the seller.

Wait for DemRam and Hyacinth for authentication.

My comment is that the bag appears to be polished or dyed although there's no mention of it. Compare the dull finish shown in pics 11 and 12 (inside) to the glossy and darker exterior photos.

It does look awfully shiny, doesn't it? I'll wait for other opinions and maybe ask the seller if it has recently been cleaned/dyed/polished/etc.

Thanks, BB!

Several times you have mentioned that a certain seller shills. Do you ever report them? If enough people reported them, wouldn't they get removed? thanks

There are many reports submitted for shill bidding but unless ebay has its arms twisted and can't ignore the reports, they tend not to act. Shill bidding adds to ebay's bottom line so unless a seller admits to it publicly (as was the case in a post here recently), they aren't apt to act.

I have kept a list of them on my saved sellers list, and I know one that I reported got removed, but it could have been for something else. I haven't seen anyone else get removed, and sometimes it is so blatantly obvious. It is amazing to me that ebay won't let you report completed listings for shilling, only active ones, when sometimes it isn't obvious until the listing is over.
I have also seen a few sellers do it a few times, and then stop, so maybe somebody warned them. Why would someone admit to it publicly? Do you happen to know the post# or link? Thanks

Hey everyone. I was thinking of taking the plunge and getting my first Coach bag from a local seller on Craigslist. I asked one of my friends to take a look at it and she didn't recognize the style, so I wanted to find out if it's real... I am very much opposed to purchasing counterfeit bags and want to be careful!

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Item Name (if you know it): unknown
Link (if available): http://nashville.craigslist.org/clo/2448150058.html

I requested dimensions and they told me it is roughly 15 1/2 by 10 inches and like new.

This is a horrible fake...no doubt about it.

Second item: Found at goodwill over the weekend.
Item Name: I don't know the name. There is an older link on the thread but I am not sure. Possibly a Kimball Zip. Creed: C4D-9911. If it is authentic then, would be from 1994? TIA

Eww! Fake. Please flag (upper right) as prohibited.

COACH Solid Sterling Silver Bangle

Afternoon, Ladies. I would be most appreciative if someone could authenticate this for me. I want to give it away but I don't want to give away something fake. I bought it on ebay impulsively before getting it authenticated. Thanks!
