^^I think she's saying she actually is the winner of this auction but hasn't yet paid, and got the email for the second chance offer as if she hadn't already had the highest bid.

Maybe the seller believes you are not going to pay? that's kind of odd!

no,no,no I AM the real winner!!! Tehy're waiting payment from my original win and still sent this second offer! That's why I'm trying to figure it out.

I've had regular second offers before on other items, if multiples of skin care items available, books, ect.

But this is a second offer on my own win !!!!!!!!!!!

What should I do????????????

OOOO...okay...sorry...totally misread that.

ok - that is ODD! I would contact the seller. If you don't get a straight answer, and don't feel right in your gut...see if you can back out of the auction.

worse you can do is get a negative...big deal in the grand scheme of things...neg them back for "shady" practices...

not necessarily (sp?) that you misread, my words don't always come out of my mouth the right way as to what I'm meaning to say :)

I just emailed again asking for an insurance quote, but didn't mention the second offer. Should I just lay it all on the table or wait to see if I hear from them?

I would.

but personally, the whole thing sounds shady to me. I would back out of the auction if I could. But that's just my opinion.

at the very least, be sure you pay with a credit card through paypal...so you're protected.

Hi Ladies,

Can someone please help me authenticiate these Coach ballet flats asap (bid ends in less than 6 hrs)?

And for the wallets as well. Thank you so much!!

Sorry for all the questions, but I just wanted to make sure that they're authentic items & that I won't be caught having a fake one. It'd be too devastating!
:crybaby:

I just got a response from my email on the "second chance offer" on the bag I was already the winner of.
Gosh, this is hard! The gal says she never made a second chance offer to me or anyone else, this is a legitimate auction and a legitimate bag. Asked me to double check her feedback, check w/ ebay, and she stands by all of her items. She even re-stated what she told me in an email during the listing, that her sister bought it for her at a Coach store in NYC.
"Go by your gut feelings" ... My gut's new at this and has mixed feelings. LOL Any more input or ideas out there? thanks!

I just figured out the drilldown and checked the last 4 (5187) and it doesn't show. Do the last 4 always work if it's a legit bag?

ya know, along with an OBVIOUSLY fake Tod's i handed the bag off to my boss, who could care less about fake vs real. i am pretty sure i'm bringing the bag back home tonight to do some examining, but the tag is ridiculously fake, no?

one flat piece of leather with coach stamped into both sides.... eerm

Some of the older bags had tags stamped on both sides. Sometimes the hangtags were made of two pieces of leather glued together and after a while the two halves would separate.

And Coach made many different bags in Costa Rica in the mid to late 90's, so your bag is probably genuine. But please post the serial number and a photo if you can.

Never - that's a cheap fake. BTW, NT-4903 is one of the most common fake serial numbers on counterfeit Coaches, these crooks couldn't even be bothered to add the NT- part.

Junk junk junk.

Ok, that's what I figured :smile1: I didn't want this bag anyway but I like to learn as much as I can to avoid being taken advantage of. I know I can always post here but still want to learn. Thanks!

Rita, those second chance offers are almost always scams! The scammer will say that they're having problems with their Paypal link and could you please send payment to a different Paypal account they've set up. Then your money is gone and so is your bag and Paypal won't do a thing because the money wasn't sent to a confirmed Paypal account.

NEVER reply to one of those offers, especially if it doesn't come through your Ebay email. That's one of the most common scams on Ebay. The original seller is NOT involved in the scam in these cases. Did you click on any links at all in that letter, or re-log into Ebay right after reading it? If you did, change your Ebay password immediately.

As for the bag - no, only about 60 percent of the style numbers will ever come up on the drilldown, I found another one for sale on Ebay with the same style number:
