Not really - but I've never seen that bag faked before so I'm inclined to believe it's real. The counterfeiters tend to fake the fabric and the Patchwork bags more than the all-leather ones, unless they're very popular and very expensive. Also since this style number wasn't on the drilldown there's a really good possibility that style was made either for the outlets or for one specific big retailer like Macys or Dillards - usually those numbers don't show up on the DD.

And yes, if you're using your Ebay ID as part of your email address, change that ASAP. Don't use obvious words or names in an email address, use a mix of letters and numbers that don't make sense to anyone but you. It'll also cut way down on the amount of spam you get at that email address.

so i just got off the phone from appologizing to my mother for "calling her out" on a fake bag she gave me a few years ago. i even went as far as to kinda give it to my boss, although she happily gave it back to me when i realized it could possibley be real.

when my mom told me it was from costco, i tweeked out. when i saw the handtag was flat, i tweeked out.

little did i realize i had handed off a real tote.

with further research i found that bags HAD been made in Costa Rica, and the serial number matches on the drilldown. boo to me lol. the handtag is flat and double sided on the drilldown too, so i have nothing to worry about. my mom LOVED that "i told ya so" crap, but i'm happy to have my bag back (like i said, i have a nice boss lol, she reluctantly gave it back, but gave it back none the less...). i DID replace the tote i took back with a nice little leather bag that fit all of my bosses things nicely, made by Wilsons Leather. she was more than happy with that bag, and preened when i gave it to her (like 10 minz ago lol)

just thought i'd share that privvy info lol...

thats the bag i have it in black and it's butter smooth. i was a fool to think it was fake, but my STUPID friends (in RL) made fun of me so bad when they saw the "costa rica" thing, and the tag, that i just folded and figured it was fake. next time, i'll tell them to do their homework lol...

The only reason you don't hear anything about this anywhere on Ebay is because any posts about the problem made in any forums are removed immediately by Ebay, so the problem is obviously serious.

I think you're looking in the wrong diection for the bad guy here. These kinds of second chance offers ARE scams and they're all over Ebay. As for the seller not answering your email, I wouldnt be too negative about that, not everyone wants to sit at their computer 12 hours a day even if they can. If you feel uncomfortable then cancel the auction if the seller will agree to it, but you're looking at the wrong side of the problem.

BTW, I'd strongly recommend changing the email addy you use with Ebay. Most of these hackers not only use the info they steal for their own scams but they also sell it to other scammers. Once they have your addy you'll be getting fake Second Chance Offers on almost every auction you bid on.

Hycianth, you were soooooooo right! I went ahead and went through w/ the purchase last night and tried to explain what you thought had happened to the seller. I had an email this morning stating she had 3 other people contact her they had SCO from her on that bag.. and they all conected to my email! SCARY!

On a cheerful note, I can't wait to get my tote!:yes:

Can someone help me with this watch? I have absolutely no idea what to look for when it comes to authenticating Coach watches. I really like this style but I have no idea if Coach ever even made a style like this. BTW, these are the eBay photos and the seller has good feedback and only sells watches. The seller has a money back guarantee on authenticity.

From the description I doubt if anyone other than a Caesar's or Harrah's employee would know whether or not it's real. If you were the winning bidder you got a good deal on it though.

Maybe if you have a trip to Vegas planned you can stop at one of those hotels and ask one of the managers?
